While frittering an afternoon away looking at nail art videos on youtube I came across some videos showing how to make jewellery with nail varnish. Basically you paint the back of a clear cabochon with nail varnish then turn it into a pendant/ring/earrings etc. Looked like fun so I thought I'd give it a go.
This is my first attempt...
V happy with how this turned out. Not so happy about my second attempt. I was too impatient, didn't allow enough time for the polish to dry before I glued on the bale. You can probably see in this pic that the bale shows through from the back...
Oh well, I live and learn. I'll be making some more over the weekend, this could become my new obsession.0 -

I was just about to say that I love the rings done like that but I have tiny fingers so that kiddy ring kit sounds perfect for me!1008 Hollywalk Park Blog0

Kind of. I did some dry water marbling over the weekend using plastic bags but hadn't thought of trying to make my own nail art stickers like this.1008 Hollywalk Park Blog0 -

Illamasqua - Kink is my fav rubber finish NP.
Also Chanel's matte topcoat finishes off rubbery instead of like the Essie matte topcoatNo Buying Unnecessary Toiletries Challenge

Barry M colour change is fun. Lovely pink goes deep red when you add top coat so I just did dots. Going to pop on some black shatter now as well.Noli nothis permittere te terere

Is there much difference between the Illamasqua rubber and a satin finish top coat in real life? A top coat would be more versatile but I imagined the rubber polishes to be thicker.1008 Hollywalk Park Blog0

Rubber polish!! Wow.
Ok have had a complete disaster tonight. Tried to do a symmetrical pattern and my straight lines are awful. So what is the best way of getting straight lines?
Can you use tape and if so what tape would you use that would not take the rest of nail polish off?
Do you just use a thin brush?
So am going to bed with bare nails tonight :-(0
