I saw on someones blog earlier that the Technic nail polish may also be stocked in The Original Factory shop so if you have one nearby might be worth popping in. I've never been in 1 of these shop's so please don't go on my say so. I also spotted a web add on the bottom of the technic bottle for badgequo turns out they also make the chit chat stuff you get in poundland so it's prob the same stuff, the Rio does look like carnival I've still not seen it in my local poundland though, has anyone else?

I'm not having any luck tonight. I ruined my peacock nails (thought they'd look good with OPI silver shatter over them...they didn't), so I took that off and re-painted with Revlon Rock...

...and now the ironing board has put a massive dent in my index finger nail :(

Too late to start again, will have to find a sticker to cover it or something.

Well where do I start!! I had everything set up like a military operation, every base was covered! Apart from my own lack of artistic skills!!

I was dropping the nail polish into the water but it wouldn't spread like I had seen on some of the you tube videos, I was then dipping my nail in and then dropped my pencil in to get rid of the excess polish but when I pulled my nail out it looked really smudged and horrible!

I only did one hand and out of 5 nails only 2 looked ok. And then trying to get the excess off with a cotton bud was really difficult! The varnish just went EVERYWHERE!!

Please can someone tell me that it gets better because I do love the effect. Also I did a base coat but I'm not sure its really needed as the marbling covered most of it up!!

    I'll post a pic in a sec!
  • As you can see, my first and middle finger are ok ish.

I hadn't bothered trying to clean my little finger as by this point it was 9pm and I was ready to admit defeat!!

I think the middle finger looks fab! I've not even tried this as I know mine would be a complete mess on every finger.
I reckon you only need a few practice goes and you'll have it nailed (sorry - groan at my own unintended pun).

I did see someone somewhere I can no longer find water marbling onto plastic then transferring it to her nail. If I ever find that again I think I might try that - its easier to throw the rotten first hundred or so attempts on plastic away than to clean off my nail varnish that many times! To be honest patience is just not in my repertoir so I suspect marbling will never actually get out the door on my nails, unless someone else has done it for me;)

Ah, I didn't think of the tiny thin brush as being for nail art. I figured that was for 'proper' nail application as the thin nib is for nial art. Whoops!

The actual varnish itself is quite good, I've only used a few of the colours but they've gone on well and looked good. There's lots of glittery ones in the pack but I've never tried glitter varnish. When I next use one of the cheap varnishes I'll upload a pic for you all. At the moment though I'm trying to use up my older Avon varnishes, I love the matte ones they did but they don't seem to stock them anymore :-(
