I'm going to try that method next time. I like my peacock nails but I think they'd be even better if the colours were blended more. I think the Nailasaurus method will blend them better. Tried to get a photo of my peacock nails but can't capture the effect, they just look dark. Will try again in daylight tomorrow. Think I'll use a lighter purple next time so it's less subtle.0 -
Well, after reading all your tips about growing my nails, I've bought the opi nail envy and a LD nail file. I used survey money that I'd accumulated so not 'real' money therefore it's ok!
I bought a load of nail varnish from ebay a month or so ago, it was something like 60 for £19! They're a generic brand but have 2 ways of applying, either as a pen for nail art or as a normal varnish. The only issue I have with them is the brush is so thin and long that it's really difficult to paint onto my nails. I've had to use a brush from an old varnish which somehow I'd ended up with 3 of the same colour, and I don't even particularly like it!£2012 in 2012 - £13810 -

I think the brushes are long and thin for doing nail art with, not actually painting the whole nail?Noli nothis permittere te terere

Just filled up the time line on the facebook page with swaps
None is particularly wonderful but the idea that someone else likes and wants is better than going to land fill.

Elise is right - they're striping brushes for nail art, and the pen nib allows you to do even finer work. From what I've heard, the cheap sets aren't that great anyway, but I can't confirm this as they are still on my 'someday/maybe' list. I think I'd be there all day if I tried to paint my nails with the brush from a nail art pen, and I wouldn't have thought that the finish would be too good either.
On the 'plus' side, if you were to spend £19 again you could get quite a few nice colours out of that if you went for cheap polishes. Barry M are good for basics (in my view), and usually have great pigmentation. I don't have a pound shop nearby anymore (sob!), but if you do then you could get an even bigger haul for your money. You could do some fantastic things with it in combination with your nail art pens. Piccies for the rest of us addicts would be niceFreddie Starr Ate My Signature

I have a big pout on. I really loved the peacock nails (it helps that i was complimented by three random people in town yesterday
) but as I am at a work gig for the next week i have had to clean down and put a very subtle french mani on.

There's a Nails Inc polish free in Instyle magazine at the moment. Mine's a gorgeous cornflower bluey lilac and it's beautiful - opaque in one coat and goes on like a dream, really forgiving.11th Heaven prizes Number 103

You can see swatches here

You'd probably find it on eBay.
*Edit*
Looking on this site, they have competed both polishes and Holiday splendour is a dupe for blitzen. Funky Fingers polishes are apparently discontinued, but the same company now makes the Color club polishes.
