Inspired by the trend to post piccies of nail 'art' (in my case I use the term loosely!) that isn't perfect, I thought I may as well bite the bullet and post mine. My photography is every bit as bad as my nail artistry - I couldn't hold my phone steady enough at the distance I needed to fit my thumb in without it all blurring, but it looks much like the other nails do.
This is starting to look a bit scratty now because I've been wearing it since Monday (and quite honestly, it didn't look all that crash hot even then!). After having had to file my nails right down due to breaking a few of them within days of each other, I was not going to bother experimenting with my Konad stuff when it turned up until my nails grew back a bit, but I couldn't resist in the end.
What I finished up with looks slightly oriental (in a 'cheap Chinese restaurant' kind of way!), but I like it enough to want to try it again when I've had more practice, although after the best part of a week of looking at it I'm starting to get a bit bored with it now.
The base is Model's Own 'Red Alert', the flowers are stamped on with Barry M Foil Effects (gold) using the flowers on the Konad M57 (leopard print) plate, and the black dots were done with a black Models Own nail art pen, all finished off with a coat of Seche Vite. If I do the same design or similar again, I will use nail polish and a dotting tool to do the dots instead, as I found it difficult to summon the strength in my hand to squeeze the pen at the same time as aiming it with any accuracy, particularly when using my left hand.Freddie Starr Ate My Signature

Looks great Ida Notion. Love that colour combination. I've bought a Barry M gold foil to use for stamping as well, glad to see it works well. I've had the same problem using nail art pens to do dots, definitely easier with a dotting tool.0

I think it looks lovely too Ida0

Gutted.
The polish i was most excited about getting in the Nails Inc AD drop (Hobarts Place) looks really vile on me.

Can't even work out why.
Taking it off and going for something else tonight...
Pah.
Lovely nails Ida - they look really good. I'm rubbish with the squeezy nails art pens as well. None on my dots are ever the same size.I'm so boring, my clothes wanna keep someone else warm, someone cooler0 -
It's not vile amy, just not quite right with your skin tone, makes your skin look pink. You could use it for stamping, or in a scotch tape mani in patches on your nails. Would look nice with a mid blue colour.0

Try the polish again when you've got a bit of a tan, your skin has a pink tone to it that detracts from the polish colour
Eta: I replied before reading Starrystarry's reply, sorry! I'm glad we said the same thing though0 -

I don't get tanned - freckles is the brownest i get.
I think i might try as starrystarry suggests and try some effect with it when i have a bit of time.
Its just frustrating when you really like a colour; get it on and realise it isn't you.I'm so boring, my clothes wanna keep someone else warm, someone cooler0 -

I've googled swatches of Bridal Shower and Pirouette and they're very very similar. I love Kleancolor by the way, they apply beautifully.
Hi, saw your link thanks. The main reason I've gone for the TSV is because I have a friend co-buying with me. It's better value to buy the kit as I wanted three of the colours anyway.Gutted.
