This is probably going to sound really spiteful, but I think those photos are shopped. They are just too perfect ALL of the time, and that just isn't real life.

Oh, I never thought of them being photoshopped . Possibly, but I just thought some people had perfect nails .Still look pretty tho' !

Speak for yourself Lady S. Miine are always that perfect. Ahem ;)

But seriously, you might be right, who knows, but blogs like that inspire me to try to make my nails nicer. Even if I'll never reach those dizzying heights.

I agree they are beautiful and very inspirational. However, it is also hard to look at them when you can never get quite the same result yourself.

Another question... I have been brought a UV lamp.. Does anyone have any idea which is the best product between CND Shellac and Gelish?

Lady S, you have some amazing items there, I am sure you will really enjoy using them. You are very clever with your nail art and use of colour. I tried Konading 5 or 6 years ago, but couldn't get very good results, so gave my stuff away, even if I could get a reasonable result on my left hand, I could not on my right, c'est las vie:(

I had a good couple of hours today organising and swatching, it is really sad,but because of my rubbish memory, and the quantity of polishes I own, I keep a little record book, with the details of the polish, name, number, type (cream, metallic etc) and a small sample of the colour next to it, it stops me duplicating too often, or buying too many similar colours (well that's the theory):j

Don't know if it will be very good quality but there are some new glitter polishes on the poundland website http://www.poundland.co.uk/product-range/health-and-beauty/beauty/. They just caught my eye and I thought they looked pretty :rotfl:

Ooh they look pretty. A friend at work gave me a bottle of Andrea Fullerton Devine but I'm not loving the formula. It's very thick and keeps flooding my cuticles. Lovely colour though.

My Metro Chic has been despatched. Am hoping it will be here today.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Um, not teaching you to suck eggs.... but did you take the plastic cover off the plate?

I did this too and my mate who gave me the plate fell off her chair laughing. they have a film coating so you have to use your nail at the edges to find the cover.

Worked fine once I removed the plastic

:rotfl:No, no plastic on them. I know that becuse the scraper scratched the plate!!

Is it a linear pattern you are doing? like stripes? If it is then you need to go along the stripe, not across it if that makes sense, or the scraper will go in the ridges and take the polish out?

  • I'm obsessed with nail polishes too. I probably have near to 100 and already have ordered more. I run a beauty blog and twitter beauty account that has over 1000 followers and I'm always saying that buying these products are for my blog, when it isn't really. I'm going to try stopping, but I doubt I will. I have a wedding to start saving for!

nail varnish is my downfall but i never spend more than £5 on them my fav brands are MUA, Barry M and beauty UK. I find them to last better than nails inc and more expensive brands
