Thanks Just_Wondering, What do you think the chances of them extending the FTA another 12 months after the original 12 months. Do the Civil Service give advanced warning about whether or not it will be extended?!0

I'm not sure to be honest. It depends on if there's still a huge workload to do and if they still need as many staff to do it.
I didn't really get much warning when I got extended. Sometimes it was a month and once it was something like 2 days before.
It will go by their budget as well.
It's possible you will get extended though.
I was only meant to be working for 3 months, but was there nearly 4 years so hopefully you will be there awhile too.0 -
Well mines a call center job (customer advisor) and I cant imagine them not needing those!! Cross my fingers though; only reason i'm thinking about it is me and my partner want to settle down;house, dog etc but cant do that without secure job.0

I start next monday
Hello, have youy started yet or is it next monday you start? I started yesterday as an AO in preston and gather that all the 12 month contracts started then and the six month contracts starting next week. I went in smart casual office wear and today in jeans - there really is no dress code just go in what you feel most comfortable in (although all the 'newbies' except those that had worked there before were in office type wear) good luck with you first day0 -
You will be starting just in time for the strike on Budget Day ! (20th March ) if you join the PCS Union.
I would recommend that you do as you never know when you will need their help.
I joined the old IRSF on day 1, back in the late 80`s and have needed their help 3 times and got the right result each time.0 -
Hi just wondering if anyone has any information or is in a similar position to me,
I interviews for the position of AO on the 10th dec, and received 5's across the board, also received higher than 94% in the online assessment. Was sent a conditional offer on the 31st of January saying they were starting pre employment checks, was asked for references and received my crb in early feb, on the 22nd feb I received another email titled conditional appointment but it was basically an rehash of the original conditional offer email sent 22 days earlier.
I haven't heard anything since I've tried emailing the vacancy holder listed on the job advert but no response. It's now the 7th march and my referees state they haven't been contacted and I'm beginning to get very frustrated by this process which is taking forever.
Any info would be gratefully appreciated0 -
That's disgusting, Thunderclap. They should have started you by now. I hope you finally get a reply from them.0

Same for me as Thunderclap. I'm guessing the Washington positions have been sorted out last. My friend who works at the same place as me currently was contacted on Monday, I still have not been contacted. I have emailed them twice since about January and I got quick replies stating the recruitment process was on going. I emailed them today but no reply. Very frustrating! If I haven't been contacted by now I may have to assume all vacancies have rang out...0
