  • I have used quote me happy and I can tell you that they provide very poor service. avoid them if you can, the low price is recovered later on if you have an accident, even if its not your fault. My ncd has been affected by quote me happy deciding that an accident that was the other drivers fault is my fault, eventhough there were witnesses and police who said the other driver was at fault. quote me happy probably dont bother with people unless they claim compensation, we didn't and so they obviously thought that its not going to cost them anything and didn't bother. also their claims line is an 0844 number and they keep you waiting for almost an hour to talk to them and won't call you back or email you to inform you about your claim. rubbish company.

I would always advise shopping around for the best (or cheapest!) insurance deal online and don't forget that a lot of the big comparison sites can help.

If you need fleet car insurance I have used several in the past, sometimes the small niche ones try a bit harder. The last one I used was https://www.justquoteme.co.uk and they were the best one at the time, can't vouch for normal car cover though but may be worth a try for that too.

Shop around as I said and compare all the insurance policy details thoroughly before buying as they do often differ in lots of ways.
  • Absolutely disgusted with the customer service from quote me happy.
Was in an accident and when reported to it took me 30 minutes to get through in the first place to explain what happened in the accident explained that I was taking a cut off at a large roundabout the person I hit on the inside lane should have taken the previous cut off or the one before I was taking as they were going to 4 cut off ahead of me resulting in me hitting them as the continued and tried to speed up to get in front of me, meaning the accident wasn't my fault.

I spoke to a (out of hours) worker so that told me that I would lose my no claims bonus then swiftly hung up the phone, baring in mind this was a couple of hours after my accident, I was still upset and shaken up and the information didn't process as quickly as hoped.
I then got a phone call from the garage about fixing my car (nationwide) and a received a courtesy car, which the repair took just under a month when the paper was said a week.

After a couple of weeks and no follow up to the accident , to verify details I still hadn't heard back from QMH, I then tried to phone all in 4 times using the correct details and number selection given on the automated voice on the phone , this resulted in me being on hold for 45 minutes each time then the call cut out . I then tried to e-mail twice to explain my situation, I got one response asking to detail my query and never got another e-mail response after I did. I then waited another few days and called back and used another selection not appropriate to my situation but finally got through after being on hold for around 20 mins.
When speaking the advisor on the phone and explained the accident about the roundabout he then said he would phone me back after he listened to my first call after the accident. He then phoned back about 20 minutes later he said he had listened to the call and looked at the notes and that the girl I spoke to had put me down as fault and stated that I changed lanes and hit someone, and that it matched the information I gave him while being on the previous phone call even though I explained the roundabout situation in detail, so this was conflicting information from the advisor.

After then being on the phone for a few 30 minutes trying to explain the accident again and him telling me it was my fault , even though I explained about following the correct road signs/ road markings about the lane I should be in because I said I was unfamiliar with the area, he then said that because I didn't know where I was going and the accident occurred that reasoning wouldn't hold up in court, even though all I meaning was that if I'm in an unfamiliar area ill follow the road signs/marking marked by the council and the highway code to conduct my driving and what my actions would be. He was very unhelpful for someone who should be fighting for their own insured driver, I'm appalled by the service.
He then said he wasn't getting was I was meaning and that he would send me out documents so that I could draw the accident and write down what happened. It took 3 days for this to come through which was an A4 bit of paper explaining that if i needed to put more information I should attach own sheets of paper and put down claims reference number. I sent this back within the 14 days and this was over 2 weeks ago and I'm still waiting to hear back from them.

This accident which wasn't my fault has put me nearly £500 out of pocket. and this has been by far the worst insurance I've ever dealt with.

Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with this situation and where to go next ?

Sorry OP, this is the point where I gave up reading your post.

When there was a small prang on one of our cars (still £100 worth lol) Just Quote Me were helpful enough in helping to sort the claim forms out for us. The insurance paid up fairly quickly so we are happy!

Never used Quote me happy but they all sound the same really on the surface, even got similar names! As ever, it's the small print and customer service that you need to look at imo! atb

You are commenting on an insurance agent, whereas this thread is discussing the Aviva Insurance Company's online arm Quotemehappy!

    Is this company still "bad"?
My renewal from Admiral is for £742, whilst Quote Me Happy wants only £361. Tempted

Next is GA for £383 and then Lloyds for £418.

I'm up for renewal with Hastings Direct, looking on comparison sites quote me happy is £150 cheaper. How are they these days? And how are they now with accepting ncd proof?

My Hastings Direct renewal just states "maximum" in the number of years. Will this be okay with along with the one I gave to Hastings stating the ncd I had when going to them?
