I'm toying with the idea of putting my charges up £5 per hour during the games for IT services .... I don't want to be left behind!

Problem is- unless you can automate it all at once, there will be horrible strikes as soon as you sack all the drivers on one line

I would expect rolling stock to upgraded to automatic capability, while maintaining drivers
then at some point the switchover would be made

Tsk, a small bunch of people in London holding everyone to ransom with their demands for generous remuneration - or else they withdraw their labour. It's not good at all.

Oh, sorry, are we talking about tube drivers or investment bankers? :D

Think quite a lot of investment bankers got the elbow when things went iffy.

What percentage of tube drivers are in the RMT compared to ASLEF who I believe have already accepted a deal.

I think ASLEF "claim" to have over 60% of them under their spell !!!

This does seem to be a bit of a p1ssing contest between the unions

I wish I could get a job as a tube train driver - maybe live somewhere like Epping or Amersham

Sad to see workers being suckered by their union, they can't see they are racing towards being replaced by unmanned automatic trains with stuff like this.

If they are going to be replaced as you think then it could be argued to make hay while the sun shines.

Secondly, as soon as they can replace them with automated trains, they will. That's what business is all about...
Thanks to MSE I cleared £37k of debt in five years and I was lucky enough to meet Martin to thank him personally.

Completely- works at Docklands and at Gatwick.

Gatwick !!! That one stop from the South to North terminals, not exactly too thorough a proving ground !!
