I went to see Don Jon with my husband tonight for our anniversary. I thought it was an interesting and funny commentary on our media culture. I liked the twist on the traditional rom com plot.0

On hind sight I perhaps should have gone out and mentioned it! I did think about saying something before leaving the cinema but for some reason thought that all the screenings must have been the same and that there would be no point in complaining to the cinema as they can only show what they are given.
I have just looked to see how many screen 7 holds and it holds in excess of 280, so would have only needed 4 screenings for a 1000 to have seen it. Again I don't know if it could be the screen or if it could be differant for every screening regardless. Thanks again.
I've asked a few people about this and basically a digital film has an audio channel and a visual channel although everything is sent to the cinema on one hard drive. Obviously, it can contain a fault but usually cinemas check for this before screening it on release.
However, it is possible that the screenroom showing the film had shown an event which requires the projection operator to change some settings and the settings hadn't been changed back again for Sunshine on Leith when you watched it. Simply put, someone probably forgot to flip a switch.
Wear and tear doesn't come into it apparently.
I hope this makes sense?0 -
Thank you for going to all this trouble. It is very much appreciated. I will let you know how I get on. As I have said, I am not much fussed for compensation it can't change the experience. I am sure it will be a DVD which my son will add to his collection so I will enjoy seeing it at home.
Thanks again0 -

You're welcome. I enjoy finding out these kinds of things and am often surprised at how it usually comes down to something simple as a switch not being flipped. I know a couple of proper old school projectionists and one in particular has some truly entertaining stories to tell about mishaps etc.0 -

Walt Disney Animation Studios, the studio behind “Tangled” and “Wreck-It Ralph,” presents “Frozen,” a stunning big-screen comedy adventure. Fearless optimist Anna (voice of Kristen Bell) sets off on an epic journey—teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff (voice of Jonathan Groff) and his loyal reindeer Sven—to find her sister Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel), whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf (voice of Josh Gad), Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom. The film is directed by Chris Buck (“Tarzan,” “Surf’s Up”) and Jennifer Lee (screenwriter, “Wreck-It Ralph”), and produced by Peter Del Vecho (“Winnie the Pooh,” “The Princess and the Frog”). Featuring music from Tony® winner Robert Lopez (“The Book of Mormon,” “Avenue Q”) and Kristen Anderson-Lopez (“In Transit”), “Frozen” is in cinemas in 3D on December 6, 2013.
