90% full screening for me.
An interesting film.
But as I heard someone say on the way out "It didn't tell me anything I didn't already know"

In fact, I knew much more than it showed.
This film takes a very narrow view.
The Hospital, the Cameraman, the Oswald Family, the immediate Presidential Staff.....

No one mentioned a conspiracy, or questioned Oswalds sole guilt (apart from his mothers ramblings)
In the depths of shock and horror, everyone goes along with the official story.

Presume the decision was made by the Producers/Director/Writers to stick to the universally agreed facts, and not drag in any questions about LBJ, FBI, Mob etc

What did surprise me, was how the film managed to touch me emotionally.
I knew what was to happen, I knew all the gory medical detail, I had already seen every second of original footage.....
Yet I still fought to suppress the sob of emotion.

Standout performances for me were:-
Paul Giamatti as a shell-shocked home movie maker Zapruder - of probably the most watched, analysed and debated film footage in history. And
James Badge Dale as Robert Oswald
• Did anyone see Don Jon last night?

I did, still not entirely sure what I thought of it. It had a sweet underlying message I suppose, not sure about how it was all executed!

Totally agree, it was a strange one. It truly was an 18.
• Hopefully someone may be able to answer a wee query!

I rarely go to the cinema now, but being from the Edinburgh area I really wanted to see Sunshine on Leith on the big screen.

I thought the film was good but was extremely disappointed that the sound and picture appeared to be out of sync! I truly did not think that in this day of technology that this would happen.

When I mentioned it to friends and family who had seen the film, they said that there was no problems like that when they saw it.

So, I complanied to the Vue. After 10 days and 3 e-mails repeating the full details, this was the reponse

Please be advised after having investigated the matter with the management team of Vue Edinburgh Ocean Terminal Vue, they have informed us that they are not aware of any issues regarding 'Sunshine on Leith' in screen 7. While the film was playing in this particular screen, they had over 1000 customers see this and unfortunately, they have not received any similiar complaints. Therefore, I am unable to provide an explanation as to your complaint.

To say I am disappointed with the response is an under statement, 3 of us went, it was not my imagination.

Does anyone know how films are screened these days? Is it persons at the cinema who control the dubbing? It had been running for several weeks, Could something get worn or stretched which would cause the dubbing to be out?

They have offered me £10 goodwil token which to me is an insult. To be honest I am not that bothered about any kind of compensation but an explanation of how this could have occured would have been nice.

TIA

I know some people who work in projection that I could ask.
I have seen TV shows slightly out of synch before now so understand how distracting it can be.
Just because you were the only person who complained doesn't mean it didn't happen, it means that nobody else could be bothered. Personally, I wouldn't have sat through the film if the synch problem was prolonged. I would have gone and asked staff to look at it. I'll see what I can find out and get back to you if I get any information for you.

Thank you. It was very distracting and if you have seen the film then you will know there are several close ups of the actors singing. On hind sight I perhaps should have gone out and mentioned it! I did think about saying something before leaving the cinema but for some reason thought that all the screenings must have been the same and that there would be no point in complaining to the cinema as they can only show what they are given.
I have just looked to see how many screen 7 holds and it holds in excess of 280, so would have only needed 4 screenings for a 1000 to have seen it. Again I don't know if it could be the screen or if it could be differant for every screening regardless. Thanks again.

I have seen the film twice, the first time when Dexter Fletcher was present so can assure you that the vision and sound is definitely meant to be in synch and has when I've watched it. Although, I have never watched it at a Vue cinema, I doubt they would show all their films out of synch without a mass outcry on Facebook if nowhere else.

I'm not 100% sure but I think the picture and sound are played separately, I know I was told this in a different cinema chain. This is what I want to check.

I'm always amazed at the problems people sit through thinking that it must be right. One person posted that she sat through a 3D film wearing the glasses and the film was shown in 2D So wearing the glasses made it blurry! She thought that was how it should be! What had happened in that instance is that the screen that needs to be moved across in projection hadn't been moved. A simple matter that could have been rectified had somebody just told staff.

Also, a tip. If you do notice something is wrong with your film, tell staff as soon as possible. Digital machines cannot be restarted where they stop the film after correcting the fault, it must be stopped, rewound and restarted from the beginning which all takes time.

Ta. Noticed the free tickets again today and wondered why. Think I'll give it a miss if they need to hand out up to four at a time.
The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.

not sure if this technically counts, but most Cineworld's are doing an Unlimited member only screening of Saving Mr Banks tonight (no cost for the ticket, you just need to be an Unlimited Card holder)

Check local cinema for times as I believe they vary from 6.30pm-8.30pm
