Quite a lot has been said by newcomers here about how unfairly they have been treated.

But it's quite easy to understand why they are viewed with scepticism, because it's hard to understand what ~motivates~ them to seek out this forum. Why would they do that, and what's in it for them?

One of the things that seems to have been lost in the huge volume of posts here is how many reports of success and failure there have been in this thread and the other related one on this forum.

To summarise, the current count is that there have been 17 newcomers so far who have joined up purely to recount their experiences.

    So far the count is:

Negative - no TV received: 13
    Positive (or OK) response: 4

Looked at in these terms, it looks to be an extremely high-risk way to buy a budget TV.

If you add to that the company Directors' history of dissolving companies and moving on, which would make future Warranty support a problem, the original advice to "Avoid at all costs" still seems to be sound.

... they gave me £20 refund as an apology without me asking for one.
Fascinating. What a strange business model they have - this must have wiped away a fair bit of their margin. I can't imagine they've done it to get more return business from yourself; so perhaps they considered it worth doing if it would be publicised (say through a forum?) so that it could possibly demonstrate that they are a company worth dealing with [ending in a preposition – waiting for grammar to be corrected]. If I were the other three who have received their TV’s late I’d be a touch miffed that they didn’t get a similar monetary apology! And for all those who are still awaiting your TV's, don't forget to ask for a similar discount!
Never let it get you down... unless it really is as bad as it seems.

I'm not surprised it's been posted on a few more sites...mainly due to your slanderous comments made hiding behind "anonymity" spreading like wildfire over the internet!

As you seem to enjoy being a pedant, it's actually Libelous and not slander.

    Excellent summary FWOR.
And even though some are viewing this thread for 'entertainment' I think the message is getting through - though 'wildfire over the internet' may be a touch over dramatic (but full marks for emotion).
There will be a lot of people who when their TV needs replacing are not going to risk possible hassle by sending a payment through the ether to a company with the slightest question mark over it. And if a company is simply inept rather than dodgy - tough. It's a hard commercial world out there. Plus it's not just a matter of getting the goods, it's about after sales support too. :)
Let's keep this thread rolling eh?
Thanks to the magic of google it will instantly show up in searches.
Actually I'm thinking of visiting the company HQ and/or unit. North East is my ancestral home and I go 'up north' quite often. I'll be happy to report back - good or bad.

Strange that that NONE of the people who claim to have received a TV, has mentioned the WARRANTY. Rather they claim that it appears 'a good product. Without a valid warranty, it might as well be a second hand purchase.
Perhaps one of the them can scan or photograph the warranty card and associated information and post it here for the reassurance of all.

I maintain that they are crooks and liars.

Just to save me going through this thread again (yes, I'm being lazy), can someone give the address of the offices again?
If it's in my neck of the woods, I might pop in this weekend and see what's what.

Those warranties seem such extraordinary value, it would almost be silly not to get one. Besides - they cover for 'accidiental' damage. :rotfl:

But, apparently, only up to a 32" TV. What happens if you buy a bigger one?

I must admit I am partly responsible for it going of track a bit.

To what fwor says, 17 negatives and 4 ok. The 17 negs have a lot of difficulty in getting through to them, whereas the 4 ok appear to get through. Plus 2 of the ok only joined to say they have received there TV and they both only mention the quality of the TV, so yeah call me paranoid or sceptical, but i find that very odd.

It would be nice if the company was genuine, they had a working payment system, they delivered the purchased goods when they say they would, have people in the office or willing to answer the phones to deal with problems, a not so checkered history of creating companies and dissolving them. There claims about california law under there t&c (whats that about). etc etc.

After all we all want a bargain, especially in this difficult economic time.

    do believe there address is.

10a Belmont Industrial Estate, Belmont, Durham, County Durham, DH1 1TN.

Sorry guys, a 220-mile round trip just to satisfy my curiosity is a bit much. :(
