helenjelly, numbers sound fine to me' I like the suggestion that sistercas made too. With the thread growing so much - and likely to continue to grow as more and more people have to make cuts in their budget - you need to work out a manageable system for you. Thanks for doing a great job :T... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

I haven't started February money yet, that starts Friday. But visited a neighbouring town with a lovely butcher today so although I still have some of January money left, I used £15 of February money to stock up on meat for the freezer. Won't start using it until next week so I am not counting it or putting it in my signature until then.Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot. :think:0

Not been feeling too good past couple of days and when that happens normal frugal life seems to go out of the window hence extra spend of £19.44 at two shops today but I did stock up on loo roll which was £7 I would not normally have spent - rest of it was partially needed-painkillers,ST's,bread,ham but rest was just"stuff" because I felt so naff I couldn't say no to DD2 & 3 just to keep peace in the house:(
Oh well never mind -hopefully back on track in next couple of days but already I can see Feb budget being a either very close or way off the mark.Crazy Clothes Challenge 2012 £57.20/£100,CCC 2013 £68.67/£100 ,CCC 2014 £94.32/£100

Hi all
freyasmum - what an adorable little story! Bless her little cottons :A
I had a slight mould issue with my planned lentil ragu tonight, so instead had vegetable chilli bowl from the freezer. Unfortunately my distinctly oregano flavoured wedges I made (which would have been lovely with the ragu!) were already cooking, so that was annoying, as I'd have done cajun or smoked paprika ones instead if I'd realised!!!
Hey ho, also had some broccoli with it and topped with what turned out to be a larger portion of cheese than I realised :rotfl: I promise there's chilli under there - but at least I get reduced fat mature cheddar, so could have been worse!

Lots of NSDs lately so came in under budget for January and I have my full budget available for Feb and I am well stocked up. I did wonder if Id set my annual budget too low but so far so good-I think I set it right!
Gad a busy time lately with my aunts funeral and my DH on a new course of chemo so I've not looked in much. Still keeping my spending diary up to date tho-I even took it to work Saturday to update it in my break-my workmate thought I was a bit mad but I told her how I truly enjoy it! As I explained-apart from anything else, the maths keeps my brain alert!
I was filling out the spreadsheet but as there are four of us, due to the very volume of my entries it is a bit too much work for me-especialy at the moment. I did have a nice lunch in a local town with my SIL=-my treat this time-and it went on my grocery spends so I am chuffed I could still have money over. I've delayed my Asda order which would have been for 4th Feb as I really don't need anything and I may end up cancelling that one.
Extra day at work tomorrow so I must go off to do lunches now for me and DS.
DD dropped out of college after a bad exam and will soon be joining the jobhunters officialy when she is 18 in a couple of weeks-that is my baby-all grown up!Where has the time gone?
Helen Jelly-I am happy to just have my budget in my sig!Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -
First Feb spends (didn't take long!). Annoyingly I bought a full price Best of Both for £1.40 from the Co-0p  only to stop at Mr S on impulse on the way past and pick up 2 big loaves at 59p each. BUT left an optimistic ebay bid for a freezer before going out and came back to find I'd won the thing for £40! :j They seem to go for much more than that round here, even ones that were basic/cheap to start with are £60+ and there's usually a frenzy of last minute bids so even if you think you're going to win it, some blighter snaffles it from under your nose with 7 seconds to go... Over an hour each way to pick it up but was getting desperate, I agree with someone earlier, can't stock up as I'd like without more freezer space, and I've been looking on ebay for a month or so.
btw does anyone know if M@kro do cheap Sheba? Can't find anywhere less than 50p for the square foil packs and it's mostly the only thing my cats will (reliably) eat. Cheap cat food isn't a bargain if most of it gets left and the little darlings both have dodgy digestion so can't let them starve, plump tho they are...;)
Ooh, tried SC baked pots for the first time tonight, honestly didn't think it would work but it did and it was great, that's got to use a lot less fuel than putting the oven on unless I'm baking other things too. Hurrah, a small victory!:j
btw for those struggling with depression, I expect you know already that eating a balanced diet and not skipping meals is likely to make it easier to cope. Don't mean to teach anyone to suck eggs and I realise that when you're low, you don't always want to eat, but it is worth the effort.
Helenjelly, I use my sig to keep track so din't mind if you don't do the list either, we do appreciate all you do!
Night all! :wave:0 -
Hi everyone,
Can I put down £300 again for Februaryplease, thanks for running the thread, keeps me on track. Oo and I've just discovered SuperScrimpers on Channel 4, love that show, especially the recent mascara tip, get a cheap mascara put it on lashes then pop a bit of talc on finger tip rub on your lashes, then re-coat with mascara and voila lovely thick looking lashes.
