Nic, L1dl have Colombian instant for £1.99 a jar. Hope this helps.
Thank you! That was very nice for you to check! :A
This will save me loads at the rate I get through coffee over the course of the year so I'll try and pop to Mr L ASAP to test a jar out, and bulk buy a few if they are nice.
Extra spend again for me - £11.30 in Mr W. I should hopefully be pretty much sorted now this week though...
I'm also good to just include my spends in my signature since I never refer to the spends on the first page. Whatever makes it easier - I understand that it takes a lot of time and effort keeping the thread going and it's much appreciated.Grocery Challenge Jan 24 0/300

First official grocery challenge shop at aldi today. Even armed with the £5 voucher from last week's daily mirror my share of the spending came in at £24.80. It will last over a week I hope. Too many treats though, I am addicted to crisps and nuts: £4 just on four bags of them! Any ideas for crunchy and flavoursome snack replacements (apart from carrots
) thanks

Hi all
freyasmum - what an adorable little story! Bless her little cottons :A
I had a slight mould issue with my planned lentil ragu tonight, so instead had vegetable chilli bowl from the freezer. Unfortunately my distinctly oregano flavoured wedges I made (which would have been lovely with the ragu!) were already cooking, so that was annoying, as I'd have done cajun or smoked paprika ones instead if I'd realised!!!
Hey ho, also had some broccoli with it and topped with what turned out to be a larger portion of cheese than I realised :rotfl: I promise there's chilli under there - but at least I get reduced fat mature cheddar, so could have been worse!

I also dont mind if allocated number or just update my own signature and dont need be on front page.
On spending front hav not been great. Have been in supermarket last 3 days running.
Monday was £5.95 spend in Ald* (£1.44 on this not on list - treats) and £2 in Mr M's on fruit shoots for nephew. Always have one in my bag for him when visit.
Tuesday was £10.53 in Mr M's but this includes 2 packs coffee on special. DH only used to drink Nescafe Dolce gusto pods at £3.79 for 16 coffees. So costing me about £15 a month. Tried a normal coffee and he liked it so bought enough coffee to last him about 3 months at cost of £6.30. So good investment in long run.
Yesterday was £20.77 in Mt T's but included salad and fruit for me at work over weekend and cat litter and cat food.
Was out late last 2 nights shopping for house things with aunt who is moving house. So meal plan went to pot. Had planned paella on Tues but because was out late grabbed some whoopsied Morrisons the Best Meatballs for £1.50 and knocked up a quick pasta dish. (used half meatballs and other half in freezer for another day.
Yesterday then was going to be paella but again didnt get home to well after 6 so grabbed couple pizza's in Mr M's for £3.79. Both half price.
Not going to beat myself up too much though as in past would have def got take away probably both nights instead of £5.29 extra spent for dinner for me and DH for both nights and portion of meatballs still in freezer.
Good thing is now lateshift for next 4 days so will not be in supermarket at all. No spends hopefully except maybe some milk from local shop.Yearly Grocery Budget - £100.77/ £3500. January Treats Budget - £11.80 / £100.0 -

Cheap cat food isn't a bargain if most of it gets left and the little darlings both have dodgy digestion so can't let them starve, plump tho they are...;)
My mum used to have the same trouble with her cats, and even then it was a problem with one of them. For some reason though she tried tha A1di ones and the cats loved it and would then eat nothing else! Ive always been sceptical but have just tried it with mine and they're fine with it. Only 17p a tray so worth a shot. HTH
Helenjelly: I was also wondering if you could get away with not listing names/budgets at all. I certainly don't mind how you do it and it must be so much work. Just having this thread each month appears to be what most of us need and you all do an amazing job with that.
But I'm just a newbie so don't mind mexx
