Grocery Challenge - February 2012

Two no spend days so far, tomorrow's the big shop so I need to doublecheck the shopping list and meal plan - so far enough food for two weeks is around £55, and I always mentally add on £10 for any last minute additions/OH's sneaking food in the trolley. Think fortnightly with a small top up shop is the way to go for us...mind, I'll see what its like at the end of the month!February Grocery Challenge - £100.87/£180February Don't Throw Food Away Challenge - £0.60/£1.500

I did a Big Shop today and spent £30+ on food, but those foods were bulk buys to eke out what I have in my store cupboards and freezer, so apart from fresh veggies, I probably won't need much else for the rest of the month. My aim is to stay away from the SMs. Will update my sig later (when I am not at work, lol)!31.5/1000

I was having a little think [DH says thats always dangerous lol] I have to write down everyones name and then their budget and then go to my first post and change/add everyone on, the writing part takes ages!! so I was trying to think how to make it quicker/easier and the only way I could come up with is to give everyone a number instead of your name i.e. Helenjelly £250 would change to 75 £250 - saves lots of time when I'm writing loads of names down - can anyone see any probs with that or is it a carp way of doing it or if you prefer to keep your name then that is soo ok with me
Thanks
Helen x
I can't see the numbers being a problem ... Do you have word or a similar document - when editing I find it easier to cope the details in there and copy and paste back into the post but which ever you think would be best for you ... I can imagine it takes quite a while to update!
Another small spends of £3.69 today, not out tomorrow though or Saturday

Done a big shop in @sd@ and spent £68.15 yesterday.
Hoping that i can keep this month in budget as i shouldnt need much food (apart from bread, milk, eggs etc).0 -
HelenJelly - as I tend to update my sig with my current totals I don't mind whichever way makes it easier for you. I don't mind being a number, a name - to me, it's the taking part that's the important bit
((hugs))
Right, another spending day (argh!!!) but thankfully it's another relatively low on. I spent £9.01 (not including a Valentine's card for Mr Kitchenbunny and a basket steamer which I've wanted for ages) on a few bits for going forward - i.e., loo rolls which were on offer, washing liquid and some things to make some bacon, cheese & onion pasties with for lunches, etc. Mum and Dad bought me a pasty press for Christmas and I've been itching to try it out! This weekend I'll do it
Anyway. I'm hoping to only buy a bunch of bananas at a £ tomorrow but we'll see how that turns out. I'm beginning to realise that I need to STICK to my list more and not think about POTENTIAL stuff so much. Hmm.
Tea tonight is a jacket potato with baked beans and anything else the fridge cares to throw at me. Right now, there's a rasher of bacon, an end of chorizo, half an onion and a few mushrooms which will go well with a heap of smoked paprika and some garlic & herbs! Might have a little grated cheese on top of that too... Yum. I've started a notebook now so that I can see what I've got planned as meals for the coming week along with my shopping list which will hopefully help me keep to the programme.
Have a lovely evening, everyone. Keep warm!
