Might as well post in this thread so I don't fall behind here as well!
Bought sour cream, cream cheese and a reduced loaf earlier so another £2.79 to add to the budget.
Sour cream and cream cheese were bought for this
Unbraided (:rotfl:) lemon bread:
Was my first time making a sweet yeasted dough, but it won't be the last! Doesn't look as neat as I'd have liked (I'm a bit of a perfectionist) but everyone who tried it said it was delish.

Helenjelly will you please put Hex2 down for £425 in February (reduced by £50 for the bulk butchers visit in Jan)
we really are running out of cash now and I have to stick to this.
Thanks to everyone who runs the thread!
Last night we had chilli, DH jokes about 'spot the mince' but I pad it with red lentils (in my head more nutritous than oats), peppers and mushrooms (£13 a week mixed F&V box from my milkman) and two tins of kidney beans to 1lb mince which means enough leftovers for several lunches for him. Tonight we had a superb fish pie with home cured hot smoked salmon that we made and froze in portions over christmas. The BBQ flavour really transforms what can be quite a bland meal with value white fish. Again lots of leftover portions to 'ready meal' for DH.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Other ideas I have tried are using half a tablet in dishwasher (works for me) and adding lentils to the bolognaise sauce. Not even fussy ds noticed that one and I have about a month's worth of bolognaise pots in the freezer!:j
Can I just ask, do you soak the lentils first, how many do you add and are they just normal red lentils. Have never used lentils before, only oats
Many thanksWhen you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying!:rotfl:

Please could I join your challenge.. I spend far too much on food shopping, embarrassed to say I don't know how much ...
Have got food shopping being delivered tomorrow and have an excel spreadsheet at the ready to record how much I spend (have really tried to be frugal)0 -
Hi I'd like to join the challenge this month. I'm aiming for £150 for Feb purely for foodstuffs.
I'm doing a separate toilety/cleaning budget as after keeping my Jan receipts it seems quite high £29.26. I must go rooting around on her to find tips for making savings here.
Thanks for organising this challenge.

Well done my first MR S online order hoping that it would mean that I wouldnt need to go to Supermarket so much and hopefully kerb the spending and so far has worked. Spent £61 and receipt showed we saved £31 on multi buys plus got £10 off first shop.
No sooner had the delivery guy leave the OH confesses that he has used up last of beef stock cubes and worcester sauce. So today popped into MR T and was so proud of myself as only brought these two items and a 19p tub of mixed herbs as felt last night spag bol needed it. Spent total of £2.18
So far out of this months budget we have spent £63.18. Definately think we are going to manage to live on £110 food budget. Thinking getting the remaining money out and keeping it in a little purse in my bag so I can see the money go down and may not be so tempted with luxuries that we dont need.APR NSD - 0/10
Paid off in 2013 so far £125.00
April Money made - £18.000
