Hello again everyone,
Having no money has it's plus pointsI'm here to declare NSD no 3 today. I resisted the temptations of the coffee shop near work for two days running
and we have decided not to go to Al*i for veg, milk and eggs until Thursday at the earliest! We think that we can make it to the end of the month on £30. Isn't it amazing what you can do when you are psuhed to the wall?
Talking of shopping, I read somewhere that Waitrose and Tesco will let you pay for your shopping in vouchers even if you don't buy the relevant product - does anyone know if that is true? I was thinking of ways to cut back when we have to face the big shop .
I love the subthread about the underground. I have to apologise to Kerry gt though as I multiposted your post this morning and managed to mess it up somehow and now it looks like I wrote it all and that's not the case. I will try and be more careful next time. As for ghosts, LMH I am sure that there is some urban myth but I also think that there is bound to be some type of paranormal activity on structures that are so old as lashley 89 suggests in the case of the Jubilee line. It would be a great place for a ghost hunt!:D. Did you get a quote for your picture marmite?
Londongirl252 - does it really cost that much:eek::eek:. I can't remember what we paid but I don't think it was that much.
I'm with knitting Nora about chocolate being one of the first things on my shopping list although wine and alcohol in general is off the menu after overdoing it at New Yearewwww even the rhought of it makes me want to hurl!
Sorry to have suggetsed a whole load of things that are no good to you cw18,isn't it bad that these are all I can think of to boost the bill?! At least you have done it now though. Your post about buying Easter chocolate for your kids made me laugh. My Mum is perplexed about my annual Easter Egg requests especially as my *considerably* younger brother and sister insist that they don't want one :rotfl:!
Anyway enough of my rambling, I am going to switch my PC off now and have an early tea and an early night I think. It's cold and miserable and I am really tired!
Hope you all have a nice evening

PS Thaks for the update LMH and if wishes were horses I love the picture of the penguins :rotfl:My beloved Grandmas mottos::A "A penny saved is a penny earnt"; "Nothing's a bargain unless you need it" "Mend and make do" #

Thank goodness tomorrow will be a NSD.I had an unplanned spend of two cashmere jumpers at half price in the sales. Now I remember why I avoid the centre of town and window shopping in general.:o
I paid a deposit for the framing of my fab Underground poster.:DI know whereabouts in the flat I'm going to put it now.
I've just realised that the money I've used for these two items was intended for a DD that comes right at the end of the month.Hm,I'll have to do a bit of juggling...
flying fresian hope you're soon feeling better.
bubble have a fab evening out!
ETA mytimetoshine I think we crossed posted there!Yes,I got a thin, black metal border, which was also the cheapest option, but asked for a anti-glare glass, which put the price up a wee bit.I think that I might have to buy one or two books on the underground.I'd love to learn more about it.I'd particularly like to visit all the 'end' stations as well.0 -
Yay! NSD 3!!
Tomorrow may be one if I can find somewhere to park at work for free, and if I snaffle enough from the buffet at a training event to have for my tea too. Shall take some sandwich bags in my pocket just in case!0 -

Ohhhhhh, ouch to the coccyx, I bruised mine years ago and still remember how sore it was:( - glad you enjoyed it tho':D
Well, No 3 today .... been really busy all day and shattered so not a lot else to report.
Will have to be one of those "unavoidable" spendy days tomorrow - going to an MRI scan which involves a car journey, train journey and bus ride just to get to the hosp (nightmare to get too and takes over 2 hours by the time I wait for trains & buses) .... not looking forward to it at all - and may just have to visit John Lew*is on the way home although I've now forgotten what I [STRIKE]wanted[/STRIKE] needed:oGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Evening all - hope everyone is OK & managing to keep warm & safe
NSD No 4 please - managed Saturday & Sunday as NSD's plus today. Fingers crossed for another tomorrowI don't count my DD's & SO's as they are all budgeted for, I just count my shopping trips & incidentals. NSD's certainly make you stop & think 'do I really need this' I'm also finding its helping me be more focussed(?) on my menu planning - such as it is
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
I did it and got another NSD in today at uni by sticking hard to my plan and paying for the train fare and 2 cups of tea out of the money I put aside for this. Als didn't cave in to the danish pastries, bacon sandwiches or chocolate muffins.
It's NSD 5 today and then aiming for another one tomorrow and then one either Thurs or Fri depending upon which day I do the top up shop.final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
