    Hi Peeps

Well we were supposed to be going for food and petrol but DH did want to play. We took Mitzi (his 4x4) out for its first trip out in the snow since we have had it. Boy was I impressed, so worth having it. We had a drive up through Sandringham and found as many back roads as we could ending up for a drink at the pub my dad usually frequents on a Sunday lunchtime but not today. I was amazed at how many people were trying to get up steep slopes in unsuitable cars and then wondering why they got stuck. I wouldnt dream of going out in the snow in my car unless I absolutely had to and while the main roads round here are now clear, the lane behind our house is now compacted snow and ice so unless we have a major thaw Iwill be taking DH's car to work tomorrow.

Anyway, needless to say while it was lovely playing I am now behind and all the shopping needs putting away and Ineed to rescue DD's wet clothes and boots.

    See ya's all later
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!
  • well, we've had quite a lot of snow here, about 6-7 inches! Were on a little cul-de-sac, right at the end and ofcourse theres a substantial gradient first up, then down to the main road. Tried to get the car out this morning for work...failed...wheel span..gave up. Managed to haggle a lift off one of the girls who was going in, phew! Its thawed a little now and the neighbours all clubbed together and cleared some of the road leading up to the hill and gritted the bits that were visible. (its so novel this for us...considerate neighbours!) So managed to get the car out and parked it on the main road so shouldn't (touch wood!) have any probs getting to work tomorrow.

Flying-wise...not a lot due to the above! Done a bit of filing, but NEED to wage war with a hoover as the place is looking decidedly dusty!
Hope you're all managing to stay warm and SAFE. xxx

  • Not offended nanamia :D sorry my post came across that way.

I'm so impatient, DH is at port in Milford haven and may get chance to phone so every time the phone rings or I get a text I'm disappointed that it's not him.

Just watching Petes dragon on tv, it was one of my favourite films when growing up :)

Have booked an apt for someone to come and measure up for blinds as my voiles in the living room keep falling down through the cat clicking them  and from the heat of the radiator  I need something up at the window as its a very big window and people keep nabbing when walking past with or without the voiles up.

Hope DH calls you soon seafarers - must be even more difficult for you both him being away now you have Ben

Dusty our sorbus has been stripped as have both huge pyracanthas - crabapples or nothing here now. I put quite a bit of food out and there is nothing left now but the apple skins.

Nice neighbour called in to see who had cleared a path on her drive and gritted it (DH), our house is a tip but I had at least just taken some scones out of the oven so not all bad. Lovely to see people working together, everyone has been out and worked together to clear a route to the main road which hopefully has now been gritted. The lorry came this morning but was empty!

  • rant alert - my fridge has thrown a wobbly and frozen everything -:mad::mad: - can I use the frozen carrots once thawed do you think?
So batch cooking in order later - but at least the fridge was fairly empty....

I have accounts to do, so cooking or accounts, ermm cooking everytime......displacement activity is us!

Hope everyone is keeping safe & warm in the white stuff.

    Moam

MOAM I guess the carrots will be a bit floppy but can't see why you can't stuff them in something even if it's soup. Is fridge in an unheated area? They don't work below a certain temp - could be 5 degrees but that is a guess.

Hoovered house top to bottom. Everybody is a bit grumpy here today, tired and kids all fighting off bugs.

No good news on Ed, he is still sleeping. He had more surgery on Friday, to help reconstruct his broken face, poor poor lad. They still have no idea when or even if he will come back.

I'll do the new list later on.

of course you can use defrosted carrots... you can buy frozen carrots in some parts of the world :p You could just sling them in the freezer until you want to use them.. they are not good uncooked once thawed though.. and rabbits wont eat them!

Beasts fed, Dot noisily sucking her thumb in her chair.. DS2 ready for Mark II.. so once they have eaten I need to shower 2 girls and get them all to bed.. I love school.. they have all been really hard work this weekend.. of course 90% of it was down to DS3 who apparently has "the worst life ever!" ... he is not in the least bit dramatic!! Anyway, DS3 peed DS2 off who then stropped at DS3 who then took it out on DD3 so i had 3 of them prowling about picking fights.. so they all got sent to bed early.

I was just going to be pleased about not having any appointments booked tomorrow then remembered i have 2 (9:30am and 4pm) and it is dance at 5 so need to do an early dinner.. Tuesday we have physio, wednesday the fang farrier, thursday nai appt and Friday the osteopathh nd we are then off to OHs mothers for the weekend and it looks like his sister may be planning to pee me off in a monumental fashion by being there winding Squeak up and being her usual highly irritating chidish self!.. wonder if i could sneak valium in her coffee???

I have hoovered - first time in over a week, and it still just a path through the building dust but better than nothing.

I did all the ironing too, and then found that a revolting child has left half of his dirty washing in his bed so fished that out and got it in WM. Explained the knock on effect rather than scream like a banshee in the vague hope that he doesn't do it again.
