Must catch up. Why oh why do I find myself slipping after getting the house into great shape because of these lists? It was quite easy, doable and enjoyable and for the first time in my life - and I'm nearly 60- I have a tidy house. But I'm getting lazy again - have I forgotten the shame and panic of unexpected visitors calling and me cringing with embarassment at my very untidy ramshackle house?
Note to self - must do better and not fall behind!!!!!!! Got to get some staying power!

The saying here is the same.. I often tell them I could gobble them up in a single nom :D

Squeak is a minxlet.. she has jut started the "leg-hugging" phase.. and she is so big instead of getting me in the calf/shin like my shorties did she gets me right in the back of my knees and almost has me over 1000 times a day.. She gets all the books off the bookcase and passes them to OH 1 at a time.. he loves it ;).. she makes unbelievable levels of mess.. she got stuck halfway out the cat flap the other day.. head and one arm out.. I think she learned that lesson quickly!

John the immortal fish is still clinging to his mortal coil but not looking very happy :(. Might try the lukewarm salty water actually, worked when my nanna tried it.. and what doesnt kill you cures you, right?

Best make a cuppa and kick Dot out of bed.. she slept 11-2 and 2:30-still sleeping so we are kind of improving! I went to bed at 11 and left her downstairs wth OH so I managed 10 hours, though I was up twice.

DS2 having a meltdown as we put a 9pm shut off on his pc since he was not getting off when told and keeping DS3 awake.. he will learn hopefully.

Work experience at high school.. is it a compulsory part of the curriculum???

DS2s school apparently decided not to do it for his year so I just wondered if I am justified in another whinge about their failings! The school is far far from what it used to be sadly and I am so pleased I didnt send DS3 there.

    Morning all

Gorgeous photos, pigpen. Work experience is not compulsory, to my knowledge. Our current head doesn't believe in it as he feels too much of it is low quality and not worthwhile (not my view!), so students have the option of arranging it after their last exam in Y11.

I'm sorry I disappeared again. I'll try to be in properly next week, as work should in principle be less busy, but I'm also car hunting. The garage gave me 3 options: pay £60 and scrap car, pay £200 and hope that there's no engine damage (which they won't know until they've made the first repair) or risk losing £200 if there's engine damage, as I'm not prepared to spend in excess of £700 (car's not worth that). DH says to go car shopping. :(

I have just under two hours to make myself look presentable and make a start on the house before a friend gives me a lift to a garage to browse. DH is having a long lie-in. He's done the school [STRIKE]run[/STRIKE] walk every morning this week and needs it. I think his illness in the summer is still affecting him. I seem to bounce back better, because I certainly don't get more sleep than he does.

OK, best make a start. First on the list: wash hair, tidy and hoover kitchen, LR and stairs. Can't put bedding in WM 'cos DH is still in it and other washing is out as DS1 hasn't brought his down and he stayed out last night.

Have a good Saturday, everyone, and hugs to all poorlies and everyone else who needs it. x
