Boys into Ladies Toilets

A few months ago, a 13 year old girl was followed into the toilets in Asda and raped by a 16 year old in a town near me.
This has made me super paranoid and i would only let my kids on their own in a disabled loo.
At 8, i'd let them go in alone providing you are waiting at the door. My three girls are 10,6 & 5 and I let them all go in under the supervision of my 10 yr old. The biggest fear for me is if they forget to wash their hands! I think my eldest daughter was around 7/8 when she first started going on her own. The biggest issue at the time was whether she could open the door on her own!0 -

Generally due to vandalism.
The fact that I disagree with you does not mean that
a) I am being crass
b) I have no experience of disability
When you ASSUME you tend to make an A$$ out of U and ME.
Perhaps we could get back to the topic at hand?0 -
I also use the disabled loo when I have the little one with me - 10 mths old in a buggy. I will not go to the loo and leave him outside the door by himself.
When my other two were little we had a double buggy - side by side -try fitting that through the door of the ladies!!
No other options at times.0 -

Aren't we talking about the topic on hand? I certainly thought I was, in that I gave a good reason why it wasn't IMHO a good idea to let non-disabled children use disabled facilities and offered solutions to OP's problems. How is that off topic?
I apologise if you feel you were wrongly accused of being crass. Do you really feel that suggesting that a disabled child should suffer the indignity of soiling or wetting themselves while a non-disabled child uses their toilet, because it is good for them to learn to wait for the toilet, is a sensitive way to deal with this subject though?
BTW the A$$ out of U and Me line was good in Silence of the Lambs 20 odd years ago, but it is a bit corny now don't you think?0 -

Someones sexuality has absolutely nothing to do with paedophilia. Your comment is absolutely disgusting.0 -

This is a ridiculous comment! Most of this thread has been written by people who assume that gents' toilets are full of gay paedophiles waiting to jump on their sons. This is why I commented about the degree of homophobia being expressed here.0 -

Who has mentioned being worried about someone being gay? Surely they're worried about paedos fullstop. Most molest boys AND girls. DO NOT mix sexuality and paedophilia together, they are in no way related.0 -
all three of mine went in to the mens on their own from 8yrs as i think they are too old to use the ladies.0

Children are more likely to be abused by someone they know - a family member or friend - than by a stranger. Do you allow your 8 year old to be alone with friends and family? Yes, of course you do. You have to teach them life skills such as going to the loo alone, how to be safe, how to be cautious etc. otherwise they'll grow up into paranoid, scared people.******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0
