    I was exactly the same ss, nowhere left to turn if there was an emergency, but now it will take a month or more to all kick in, so im saving all the cc and loan payments im not making this month...that can be my emergency fund :)

    Hang on! Can I somehow "bag" the £648 I am currently paying each month in minimum repayments as an emergency fund myself? Like I said in my thread, 3 of the 5 direct debits come out in the next 2-3 days (end of January) so if I time it right with the DMP, I can avoid paying the £648 and just offer them like £1 each?

    That will be a big boost to start me off....

    Thanks FFD, I don't know who to ask about the over draft facility, but I guess it doesn't include one as they do say open a "basic" account.

    I'm sure you're a lovely wee lassie, LOL! I love the Scottish accent, our caretaker at work is from Glasgow and always has a good story to tell.... I can't tell a bloody word he says though! Ha ha, just kidding.

    Beans are ready, bye :A

    I had it at £580, then had an unfortunate prang (minor) on my way home from work with an AUDI TT sports car and they said I was to blame (it was 50/50). The past two years it's been at the £1,000 a year mark :(

    Thanks, will have to re-do a new one this weekend and submit it ASAP and cancel the direct debits to the cards (and car loan) one.

    Wonder how quick they respond saying "no payment received, you are a defaulter?" :(

    Better apply for a new basic bank account first....

    Ach, uv got a bit of leeway....at first youll get letters asking if u cancelled by accident, your dmp will be reafy to start by the time they realise ur not intending to pay. Oh, dont know if this is true, but I heard you had to have defaulted on at least one thing to get a dmp...maybe someone can confirm or deny this?

  • Thanks :kiss::)

    Hopefully someone else will confirm / deny this, but I can't see any mention of having defaulted on at least one thing before starting a DMP on the CCCS website
