BUT they do have a certain amount of respect within the financial industry and a dmp suggested by them is more likely to accepted than a self managed one. CCCS is a registered charity so they don't charge a penny for their services, every penny I send to them goes to my creditors.
Well there you go, I'll keep quiet thenDidn't even know such an organisation existed. You are in good hands then

that I was congratulated by a man from Abbey who rang me last week when I refused to answer any of his questions before he had satisfied me that he was actually from Abbey.
MBNA seem to have a major problem with this reaction to their phone calls so if I can recommend saying that you will phone them back if they refuse to answer your security question (which they will) and then of course you can forget to ring them.2014 Target;

NO Please don't keep quiet, there are still many people who don't know about the likes of cccs and payplan, and end up paying co's to do for them what they could either do for themselves or could get free elsewhere. It's a very good point that need to keep being raised to until everyone who is in debt and struggling knows there is help out there for them....free of charge.0 -
Hi,
Hurrah and well done - snotty so and so!
Ive started a new tactic recently for phone calls. Hamilton legal keep ringing me on my mobile, even though Ive told them not to, so when they ring I ask them to hang on for a sec and put the phone in the downstairs cupboard.
When I come back later they seem to have gone!
Must add that I did feel a bit guilty yesterday though. A young girl rang me from them and, as said, into the cupboard went the phone - but when I came back to get it ten minutes later - she was still there!!!
Bless.
All the best

I had a phone call from MBNA today too - I am doing an IVA.
Stupid woman this was, not a man.
So she started out that.....
"you have made no payments on your account for 6 months, you do realise that we will put you in default (they did that in Nov 06). Well, what have you got to say for yourself? !
So, told her about the IVA
"you do realise that your IVA may not be agreed. All your creditors go to Court and discuss your case personally and then they take a vote and 75% of them have to agree and this doesn't normally happen"
By this point I was in hysterics of laughter - just at the very thoughts of my creditors all gathered together in County Court.
I said to her "do you honestly think that I came down in the last shower? How stupid do you think your clients are exactly?"
She too became very abusive, mainly I think because I couldn't stop laughing at her!
MBNA are sharks, no other word for them0 -

it must have been muppets day out on the phones today. Well done for not taking the bait.0 -
Try this - you would be amazed how quickly their attitude changes. If you don't like the way a conversation is going with a credit card company or debt collection agency ask the caller to hold for a moment.
Count to 10 and then say:
"Before we continue I am required by law to inform you that this call is now being recorded"
If they ask why, just say you felt uncomfortable and intimidated by their attitude.
The person who wanted to string you up and horsewhip you 2 minutes before will instantly become your new best friend.
One caller actually said "If you are recording the call I don't wish to continue the conversation" and then HE hung up on ME!Money won't buy you happiness
But at least you can be miserable in comfort

After setting up my DMP with CCCS I had MBNA ringing me at least twice a day. And I would get letters saying "YOU ARE NOT CO OPERATING WITH US".
At first it reduced me to a quivering, shaking wreck. I felt that I had to justify my existence on this planet to MBNA.
But then I got angry. Very angry. And I found anger to be a great motivator.
When the phone rang I would put on my fatigues and prepare for battle. It went something like this:
Ring ring, ring ring.
MBNA: Can I speak to Tirednurse please?
Me: Speaking.
MBNA: This is Mr So And So from MBNA. For security reasons could you confirm your date of birth and post code please?
Me: No. I do not give my personal details over the telephone. As far as I know MBNA actively discourage people from divulging personal details over the phone.
MBNA: Ms Tirednurse, we need to discuss your account with you.
Me: (holding the phone against my smoke alarm and pressing the red button...BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP......gotta go, sorry.)
Alternatively:
MBNA: You owe us this much and we can do this and this and this to you. We can force the sale of your property.
Me: Actually, I think you cannot. A court decides what you can and cannot do.....So let us settle it in Court then.
My next letter from MBNA was to inform me that they had sold my debt on.
Hurrah! No more letters or phone calls from MBNA.
Am now preparing to do battle with DCA's.
