I'm so angry I'm crying in temper

When I started my dmp MBNA were the first co to stop interest and agree to the lower payments, which I was very surprised about because of all the horrible things I have read about them on here.
I should have know it was too good to be true.
Last week I got a letter from them asking me to set up a direct debit for the agreed lowered repayments. My dmp is through the CCCS and they pay all my creditors on my behalf so I just ignored the letter, assuming it was a computer generated one. About half an hour ago I had a phone call from one of MBNA's "arrangement" team informing me I needed to set up a dd. I explained about CCCS and the man on the other end said "thats not what you need to set a dd up for, it's to pay the arrears on your account"
!!!!!!??? If I had the money to pay the arrears I wouldn't have needed to go on a dmp in the first place. I explained that it wasn't possible to do that, that every spare penny I have is going to the cccs for my dmp. So he asks why my finances had changed and I told him why, he then told me that is not a good enough excuse and I must be able to find the money from somewhere or that I should get a job (which wouldn't really make me any better off than the situation I'm in now tbh and isn't possible anyway because of childcare issues) Then he asks if I am a home owner, and when I said no he said, oh right well that's lucky for you or we would have had your house (not for owing £4000 I don't think mate) Then he tells me I have to go and borrow the money from friends or relatives. I told him that wasn't possible and he isn't supposed to suggest I get into more debt just to pay them, and he said borrowing from friends and relatives isn't debt!! Yeah right all my friends and relatives are happy to just hand money over to me and never expect to get it back. When her realised that he wasn't going to get anywhere there he told me that if I ever got ANY money at all in the future I had to pay MBNA as a priority, and when I told him that IF I did get any extra any money at any point it will go to CCCS to be distributed between all my creditors, in line with the terms of my DMP. So he started demanding my mobile number so he could keep a check on me  I refused to give it to him and he said I had to LOL Like I was going to do that after he had spent the last 15 mins trying to bully me. I ended up telling him that I only want to deal with MBNA in writing from now on and while he was still ranting and raving about my mobile number I put the phone down on him.
Got off the phone shaking like a leaf and burst out crying....not because he upset me but because I am so bloody angry at the way he spoke to me, he knows NOTHING about my situation yet this complete stranger thought he had the right to judge me and bully me just because he works for a co I have a debt with.
Sorry for the rant but I just had to get it out of my system....at least I've stopped shaking and crying now lol

my god! what an evil man! if i were you i'd start straight out with a complaint letter to mbna about this, and i'd go to my local councellor or whomever would back you up with it. those are horrible horrible things to say to someone. are the credit card companies allowed to get away with that?0

Looby - Really Big Big Hugs.
The B'stewards. They seem to have "higher" type people who call out and call those of us that can stick our ground to try and wear us down. I got fed up with it and changed my phone number.
But nice one for standing up to the ignorant piece of yucky stuff. And I do not want to hear of any more tears - they are not worth it. You are worth more than than man will ever be. He probably has a small willy and is compensating for it.0 -
good for you for putting the phone down, at least you are trying to be responsible in handling your debts and you have to start somewhere. good luck with it all, big cyber hug coming to you.xnow proud mum to 3 handsome boys :j latest one born 10/10/11:j0

I have to admit if I had got the call before I had started my dmp and hadn't read all the fantastic advice on this board I would have been a quivering wreck on the phone and prob agreed to all and anything he said I had to do.
I tell everyone I know about this site and the first time any of my friends mention getting calls from cc co's I send them marching over here LOL We have to spread the word so that idiots like the one I got tonight can no longer bully people into making arrangements that only end up making their problems even worse!0 -
Well done Looby, I think you handled the situation very well :grouphug::cool: Official DFW Nerd Club Member #37 Debt free Feb 07 :cool:0
