I'm starting the month at 67.0 kg.

    That's 10 stone 7 pounds 11 ounces.

Since the New Year I seem to be stuck at about this point, a bit below, a bit above, but essentially, going nowhere. I have no idea why. Not doing anything different as far as I know.

I'm not going to pay anyone to tell me to eat less or eat differently. If I don't know it by now I never shall. Just had mushrooms for breakfast poached in a little oil and balsamic vinegar, with a wholemeal roll and a scrape of marmalade. That will probably last us until about 2 pm. I still go to aqua-fit 3 x week.

Watching 'The Biggest Loser' last night - they all go through the same programme, are all driven by those trainers to push their bodies through things they never thought of doing, and yet the weight losses at the end of the week are very very different. Last night, the wimpish young guy who's always complaining, says he doesn't want to be fit just wants to be slim, who was said to have worked less hard than any of them, had the biggest loss!! Bodies work differently and no accounting for what happens.

Ahem, can I join? (pokes head around door sheepishly)

Stress from the last year, and over indulgence at Christmas (and in general) has meant my weight has crept up a bit. Just before Christmas it was 67kg, but I KNOW I have put on a bit more since then, because my work trousers have become tight!

Also had to avoid exercise for a while, after op on wrist in early Jan, followed by a bout of flu. Feeling better now though, and want to get back on track and get things under control before it becomes a bigger challenge.

I just signed up for the calorie count site, as I too don't want to pay someone to tell me what I already know, or track my weight. Had a healthy dinner last night of jacket potato, salad and cold sliced chicken, with a teaspoon of half fat salad cream (well, closest thing to it here).

MargaretClare - I love watching The Biggest Loser. It's always inspiring to watch people turn their lives around, though you do get the odd one or two who's heart isn't in it, or whines a lot. Sometimes, the amount they lose in one week can be staggering! I'm missing it at the moment, as it doesn't play here :(

I was inspired to get Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred DVD though, especially after some other MSE members had bought and tried it (and rated it well). God that is one killer workout! Need to get back on that, and start again with Qi Kwan Do.

I hope everyone has a good Wednesday!

  • Ok, I've weighed in this morning at 12 st exactly (168lbs). I need to shift 7 lbs so I can wear the clothes I own comfortably again.(already only got a capsule wardrobe and don't want to own more clothes) Also of course, it is healthier to carry less weight.

Exercise is difficult for me due to health issues so it is mainly going to be 'exercising' abit more control over what I am eating and cutting back on some over indulgence.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

I think in general the more weight you have to lose the easier it is to lose it.

Are you able to snack between breakfast and lunch to keep your metabolism going? snack on an apple or something healthy.
  • Ok first weigh in of Feb and since the last weigh in of Jan I have put on a lb :( though it is not so bad considering my MASSIVE chocolate and wine binge at the weekend, oh and the fact that I have been SUPER lazy! Well I say 1lb but I'm hovering between 146-147 so 2lbs really but if I say my initial weight is at 146 I will have to work harder on the 7lbs. Am gonna try to start being super active this month and really pull my socks up on the dieting front so hopefully I will do it. So start weight 10st6lbs (146lbs), off to put a lb on my signature and go do a workout!

Well, I could, but mostly I don't remember to. At least not in the mornings.
