Aldis sometimes sell oven pride for £2.99 which is a pound or so cheaper than some other supermarkets. Mind you, I have an embarrassing collection of them now, as buying them hasn't actually motivated me to use them. Maybe not so money saving! Will try an old style method one day once I have gone through my secret stash. Could take a while...
Healthy eating aim per day: 3 fruits, 3 or more vegetables, 3 low-fat dairy portions, 3 starch portions, 2-3 lean protein portions.
Weekly aim: to include 2 portions of fish (one oily), some nuts, seeds, beans and pulses.

I splashed out on a company to come and clean my oven:o as its quite low and I find difficulty in bending with my clapped out joints. The lovely lady who came used Astonish oven cleaning paste and a good dollop of elbow grease.Result was one sparkling oven O.K. it cost me £36.00 but if I only get it done every two years (I only use my oven for baking cakes as I have a Remoska for cooking meat plus a SC) that means its £18.00 per year which works out at around 45p per week.Worth every penny in my opinion. She said that often these spray on cleaners keep on working and if you have missed wiping them off at all they will damage the surface of your cooker. No chemicals or smell and she took the stainless steel trays out to her van where they were put into a large tub of stuff which cleaned off the crud whilst she did my oven.I was very pleased with the result

Mine does not self clean so i have to otherwise it gets really dirty and smelly. You are lucky you dont have to do anything, its my least favourite job.

    BTW whats the lakeland thingy?

Lakeland sell an oven liner as do most supermarkets.(Tefal) It only cant be used if the element is at the bottom of the oven. It is a really thick liner which sits on the bottom of the oven and collects all the spills - say from a roast. Wipeable and very useful. Can be cut to size.

I use an oven cleaner called St Moritz. It is truly amazing. I'd be very careful not to get it anywhere other than on the oven - it smells awful and looks corrosive! But works wonders! No scrubbing required - my oven truly looks like new.

It's £4.69 a bottle but it goes a really really long way.
