A Bag A Day *Star *EBAY **Challenge 2012**

Options
To Help De-Clutter and to Up Your Income Lets get rid of all those bits and pieces lying around the house that don't get used or fit us any more. And gain some extra pennies .
Listing on Ebay can sometimes be a long process and time consuming. So grab one carrier bag a day and fill it with unwanted items

The thread will run Monday to Friday and can be as little or small amount as you wish . And there is no pressure its just about taking small steps to a emptier home & more cash for the future .
It's upto you how you manage this challenge , you can take pictures and then type up all the writing at once or list as you go along one bag a day . So if it is a large item this will count as one carrier bag .

On average a full carrier bag should take less 30 mins to picture , upload & list .
So if the average profit after fees etc is £2 an item after 5 days you should have at least £10 profit a week - Probably more making it £520 a year on average extra income :)

This can then be counted into other challenges or your own little pot for this challenge

We can set our goal of how many bags a week we want to shift and share tips on here on turbo lister , making use of free listing days etc. And if you want to set a goal of how much is made you can also list this too :)

I will update regularly on the next post of names . And you gain a star for each bag you list -
The goal is to get 5 stars a week next to your name
:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin

Please post in colored bold type so I can ad your name to the list of how many bags you want to shift in the week

    Waaaay ahead of you! :rotfl:

ZEPSGAL - ONE BAG A WEEK

My sister gave me 5 binbags of stuff to keep/sell, so Ive kept a bag and Im in the process of selling the rest.

Managed to get 8 things sold last week, after fees I had a profit of £32 :j

About 8 items ending tomorrow, 5 @99p so far, but lots of watchers, so hopefully some more bids :-)

And Ive just put on another 18 things today when Im at work (very VERY lucky that my boss is my big sister, she is helping me put stuff on cos we aren't busy at all today)

Been looking though the cupboards etc, every time I see something I think 'eBay', so once I get rid of these bin bags I will start on the rest of the house :-)

And, in case people didn't know, you can put 100 things a month onto ebay for free, as long as the listing starts at 1p-99p! I always waited till the free listing weekends, didn't realise that I didn't pay for the 99p stuff :o
Can't think of anything smart to put here...

Great Helen Look forward to it, Thanks for joining :)

Zepsgal - Fantastic £32 profit and it was all free too:D

You are well ahead aren't you ...Its like earning a double wage doing it at work :o

I have stacks of stuff all over the house and think "ebay" too but always find myself getting it all out then not finding time to list it all with kids etc . So started doing the bag thing that way I am more organized and I don't find piles of stuff lying around that Ive been meaning to take pics of etc , I just do a bag at a time then put them out of the way - also helps for when packing & posting too:)

Yeah I only found out recently about the free first 100 listings too -s o my plan is to try and use them up in week and then the free listing weekends will be extra free ;)

Ive got a few things saved for the next free listing weekends, things that I really don't want to sell for 99p. I'm sticking all my sisters clothes and shoes on at 99p though, technically it's free money, so Im happy to get anything for it, I just need the room back :rotfl:

It's all good stuff she has given me though, all Oasis, Dune, Warehouse, Nine West shoes, Kurt Geiger shoes etc. Not like my Primark and Tesco clothes haha!

Doing the 'one bag' idea is brilliant though, not only does it cut ebaying into manageable chunks, it keeps all the 'selling' stuff together.

Anyway, must dash, got to get more things onto ebay :T

Fab idea, I definitely have a few things lying around that I have been meaning to ebay. Including a designer coat I got for Christmas last year (cost £63 half price) and now is way too big for me :( It will be a tricky one to photograph though...

Wouldn't this be better off on the Up Your Income board?

I kind of started this 2nd Week of Jan. Currently have a Loft and Garage that is bursting at the seams full of STUFF hoping to have all if not most of it cleared by summer

Cleared the wardrobes first, and have been working through the loft every couple of days, using the bag method I suppose, bagging into junk, recycle, charity and ebay.
I usually only list on Free Listing Weekends (FLW) there have 2 so far this month, as I felt that my items should be listed with a higher start price than 99p and especially for new and bigger items.

But I decided the other night just to bite the bullet and get things on at 99p with a bit of common sense keeping the REALLY good stuff for FLW. So sat on Tuesday night and got another bag of clothes listed.

At the moment sitting with 3 large bags of items that are listed and ending this weekend, 60 items in total, 11 with bids and watchers on a lot of others.

I'd like to take part in filling a bag a day, but I'll only be listing on either Fri, Sat, Sun and Tue nights with 5 & 7 day listings so that they all end on a weekend night. Will list all the 99p and save the others

To stay under the 100 listing a month I think a realistic figure for me is Nicola00 3 bags a week and any more is a bonus

    What works for me is
Listings that end Fri-Sun after 7pm, this also means that anyone that pays on Fri I can post on a sat morning and the rest on a Monday.
I have excellent feedback, a lot comment on quick delivery, which I think helps.
I alway combine postage on everything and automatically refund if someone pays too much
Only charge actual postage, although I do round the postage up then add on the price of the bags I use so a lot of my items fall into a postage rate pattern
An I'm always honest, If something looks naff I say it does, if its even got the smallest flaw I'll declare it but adding if I think its noticeable, fixable etc
I answer every question and also contact a buyer if there's something I think they should know about the item before I send

Good luck to everyone that takes part, and once you get started its fairly easy, its just keeping the momentum and motivation going that may fall by the way side.

I've said I should be adding Ebayer to my CV as its felt like a job at times

As this thread is more related to Ebay than Old Style, I've moved it over to the Ebay board and left a re-direct so that any Old Stylers who are interesting in joining the challenge can find it easily. Good luck with the challenge. :)

Yes I find that helps alot too and find listing on a Thursday evening for 10 days always pays off better , and less trips to the po also :o

Also I think I will probably be swapping a day or two in the week for a weekend day due to other commitments, I just find 5 days out of the week will be my goal , that I will find time easier to do .

    Pink-winged Thankyou - I wasn't certain of which place to put it - { scratch the head }
Any chance this could now be moved to up the income board now please ??? As ragz spoken it is probably best there :D

    Hi Keys,

I can't move it from the Ebay board, but if you send a quick pm to soolin I'm sure that she'll be happy to help if she can.
