like i dont know how come an easter egg says £3 instead of £6 and you all know if you buy it your going to get charegd £6 and then get the egg free, how come you know you wont just be charged the £3

I'm not sure with that one as I didn't indulge (maybe should have but couldn't be bothered :o - too much chocolate left from Christmas)

Somebody else may be able to tell you what happened on that particular one but it could have been a promotion that finished on a Monday that was missed (most end on Tuesdays). Or sometimes HO take the offer off too soon and the stores are caught out - lots of people scan random things to check but you won't know whether multi-saves are working until you go through the till with them.

thanks bookworm, but i also dont understand how you all know that something is going to be a DTD thing, or if you just hope that it is when you buy it.

Mr T very kindly provides self scanners around it's stores.
So you could put suspect item into trolley along with other shopping and scan it on way round...or if you can't be ar#ed get one of the wonderful helpful staff to scan with a hand held :D

This list is old, so if another user has link to up to date list please delete my link and add yours. :p

That does happen, as a last resort or if self scanner is broken ( sometimes help mr t out by plugging them back in again :D)

and no staff around, go to self checkout, scan, if it scans £6 pay and go cs for dtd, if it scans £3 hit the cancel button and leave it by side of till ( helping provide t staff with work to do,all part of the service)

    No, that's a different saving.

Tesco will price check receipts against Asda and if Asda were cheaper then they will give you the difference (JTD). Many of us use this if we know items are cheaper at Asda but they do compare the whole receipt so make sure you do your homework first. You will find hints in this thread of items that have pricechecked for a profit.

DTD is when Tesco charge you more than the price displayed on the shelf or on the product.
