Evening guys - well, what a day I have had :(:( and this is the first chance I've had to post

All ok with Mam today BUT Mr 3Dogs rang me this late this morning to say he'd been awake all night with pain in lower abdomen and feverish too. He'd got the pain over the weekend, on the right side, and thought he'd pulled a muscle walking the dogs in the deep snow as well as having to lift Bess up when she got 'snow-bound' and carry her part way, especially as it seemed to be from side to side yesterday, but it was all on the right side last night

I told him what to do, so he rang the kennels and they came and picked up the dogs and then rang 999 at 2.15'ish. Next I heard was from my disabled nieghbour/friend, as I'd told him to get ambulance guys to leave keys with her, that she had the keys and Mr 3Dogs just gone off in ambulance. Then a text from him at 3.15 to say he'd been taken to Kings Lynn hospital and would let me have further details later

i have spend tonight trying to get info from A & E but all they would tell me was that he was waiting to be admitted to surgical ward, for exploration op. Mr 3Dogs later text me to say it was suspected appendicitis and waiting to be taken down to theatre, but later they said that op was scheduled for 10 tomorrow unless pain gets worse during night

I have changed my tickets for going back from Thursday to tomorrow Wednesday, and a friend is going to pick me up from the station as it is a 25/30 minute drive home. Then I can get up to the hospital to see him and find out what's going on and how he is

Oh dear, it doesn't rain, it pours comes to mind. Just after he'd just about got over his sciatica too :(:(

Will do a little catching up now as I am all sorted for the morning

    Morning 3Dogs

Life sometimes has a way of kicking you in the teeth when you fall into the trap of thinking it can't get any worse. Just to say im thinking of you and Mr 3Dogs today and wishing you well. Im glad your Mam is ok - at least you left on a positive and shouldn't have to worry about her too much.

Just to say big cyber (((hugs))) and much love to you both - and keep positive as things can and will get better for you and your family xxx

Tricia - Re the DTD, here's an explanation I gave someone else a few days ago:

    Bookworm63 wrote: »
Firstly, start small to get your confidence!

Go through a manned checkout and pay without questioning the amount. Check your receipt as you go to leave the store and then go to Customer Services.

Tell them that you have been overcharged and then accompany them to the SEL (so that it doesn't 'disappear' ;))

Most times with a small overcharge you will be offered DTD straight away. Sometimes they will attempt to give you just the difference (JTD), but by then you will have noticed the big blue board at CS which states their DTD policy and you may have to give them a reminder. Offering JTD is their admission of guilt so it shouldn't be too difficult to get the rest.

The use of photos is questionable. You do not have to right to take photos on Tesco premises without their permission, so it may cause friction.

If they are stubborn you could then contact HO, but I would use it with caution as if this happens too many times your name will be flagged! HO will be able to verify your claim from the receipt details and if they have already given JTD then they have in effect admitted guilt, so you should get the rest back.

Remember the more you have to fight your corner the more you will be remembered in store so try to keep a low profile if you want to use the policy at that store again.

Before i reveal my most embarrassing moment, please bear in mind ds3 is 3, just, and ds2 is 5.

Wondering around tesco electricals looking for a bargain with formentioned lil ones. They were chattering along to each other happily when all of a sudden ds3 lets out an almighty scream that makes everyone stop in their tracks. The sort when you know soething is wrong.

I calm him down to see whats wrong, assistant from photo centre comes over to see what the hecks going on. When my ds3 can get his breath, he shouts

'a monster, i saw a monster in tesco'

I was confused and thought ds2 wa paying tricks so told them nicely to calm down and behave.

    'but i promise, i saw a monster'

'of course you did. Its gone now dont worry'

Preceed to next aisle quick as. Turn corner. All is fine. 5 seconds later... Same scream..

'i told you mummy, a monster, a monster'

I turned around to see where he was looking to come face to face with two ladies in burkkahs :eek:

Try desperately to shut him up but obvious from their faces they heard.

    Resort to second tactic.

'no darling, they are ladies like mummy and they are wearing the clothes that everyone wears in their country'. Best i could do with 3 yrs old.

    5 yr old pipes up.

'they are called burps, i saw them on the telly'

Quick march to lift hoping ground would swallow me

Hope that made you smile this morning!

This story made me laugh out loud and brought back memories of when my DS was 2....we were shopping in Asda and he shouted out 'look there's a monkey'...everyone turned around and he was pointing to a black skinned person, I was mortified and quickly explained that we have different skin colours but are all the same underneath. Luckily the lady found it funny. Now he is at a school that has many children from different cultures and he is so anti racist....and will argue when people are being racist.

Why oh why didn't I go to t's yesterday!!!!
Grr went this morning and they had an out of date sell on the wisps eggs :(
If I went yesterday I could have got all my eggs for free but today new offer for 2 for$8 has started so I would pay $4 for every 2 eggs! Ok but I'm being greedy and would prefer them free lol so I only bought 1 had was charged $6 unstead of the $3 as sell so I did manage to get 1 for free after dtd :)

thanks bookworm, but i also dont understand how you all know that something is going to be a DTD thing, or if you just hope that it is when you buy it.
You can't make someone love you. All you can do is
stalk them & hope they panic & give in

When items are on promotion they have a yellow label (SEL) which has a small date printed at the bottom of it. Promotions can run from a few days to a few weeks, but if there is something that we want then we keep an eye out when the promotion ends and report back any successes.

It doesn't always work as sometimes the promotions roll over, but many times it does :D
