perhaps we should reinstate it?
only jesting guys
Me just back from picking up OH, 1 1/2 hr round trip for what's normally no more than a 1/2 journeyhad to help push two cars that were spinning in the snow, was narrowly missed on a roundabout by one spinning 180 as it came off (while I was waiting to get onto the circle of doom) and had another car fly out at a mini roundabout, mount the pavement opposite and then drive off not 20yards in front of me (thank goodness I wasn't crossing said mini circle of doom at the time else I'd have been toast) Rewarding my nerves with a glass of vino and thinking OH better be making me breakfast tomorrow as a thank you....actually, make that a full roast.
On top of that, I'll be clearing the snow outside (thank goodness I bought a snow shovel last year) as I am the only one out of us who has snow boots (bought for $50 in NY in 2008, reduced from $200...best purchase I ever made)
Oh and a load of kids were making a massive snowman in the road earlier, and have abondoned the body part right in the middle of the road, it's huge, must be 3/4 the height of a car - hoping no one drives into it tonight as it would prob do some real damage to a car but it's too big for me to try and move on my own
When I had my Discovery do you know what held me up the most in snowy weather? Useless twits on the road that didn't know what they were doing. The amount of times I got asked "any chance of a tow mate?" was unreal. I would never tow anyone but I'd make out that I didn't have a tow rope even though I did as it just takes something to happen like their car to slide in to something or the tow rope to break and lash back and damage their car and your good deed turns in to them asking for money for damages.
Boss would never allow me to tow anyone with the tractor for this reason but I did make a nice few quid out of a few people who I towed out from time to time. Tenner a tow and only one refused so I left him and he was still there 3 hours later on my way back. Only people I towed out for free were elderly or people with kids in the car. Sssshhhh now, don't be telling anyone I have a heart of gold.;);)0 -

I found this:
http://www.broadbandspeedchecker.co.uk/broadband_speed_in_my_area_v2.aspx# But it's not always the best one as I get 15 mb ish but doesnt show up when I check! But can give you a rough ideaI am not a broadband expert so there could be much better tools out there.

For regular updates on deals in high street shops, visit hotukd.eals.com and moneysavingexpert.com. Check for deals as often as you can - over breakfast, during your lunchhour, in the evenings when you ought to be relaxing.
And who provides all the glitches and deals that she uses? Other people, that's who!!
It was easy to see that she is one of the lurkers who read what we post and use for themselves, never sharing with us their deals! She and her son signed up to answer back to the slating she got here when she was first on tv, and it was plain that she had never signed up before. Take, but not share! Grr. Don't these spongers realise that the site would be nothing if people didn't share!

He'll be okay. He will either stay at his friend's house or eventually arrive home. Try to chill. xx0 -

I KNEW you were a big softie really
Amazingly, although I only have a small car, so far it's managed to handle snowy driving ok, just keep it slow, steady and in a low gear and steer gently.
It always amazes me how many of the cars I see in trouble are [STRIKE]quite [/STRIKE]very expensive BMWs and Audi's etc, rear wheel drive is all very well when you're zooming up a motorway but useless in the snow - give me my little car anyday.
Anyone going out in this weather (rescusing stranded DS etc) please take care and drive carefully, and watch out for idiots who aren't, they're more dangerous than the snow xx
ps dear mr T gods...please no glitches tomorrow unless the roads have cleared :AFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
