yeah poor, still the same clearance stuff out that has been there for weeks :(

Was it you that had some clearance mugs there? the royal wedding ones for 1p??
I saw them today in the mug isle and picked one up and took it to scan and they are £2.50 :eek:

lol Lots of gaps today in the toys as they were moving them all about and putting new stock out.

Young boy on CS desk said they have taken down the blue board with dtd on and it is being phased out?!!?:eek:
No probs today getting my dtd today but he had to call someone to authorise and 2 men managers came down, I think someone else had got the Creme eggs on dtd before me as they were saying I thought we took them all down after that ... earlier :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

The young man said ohh i cant wait to go home today, been one of those days I asked had he done lots of overcharges today and he said not all day but had quite a few in the last half an hour! lol

The royal wedding one I got was different to the ones there now, there are tons of them and I checked them too but yes £2.50...no thanks!!

I thought my luck was in Saturday when a SA wheeled out a huge cage of discontinued toys, random stuff too:T...it was most disappointing...was £10.97 now £10.87!!! A load of rubbish...

Phasing DTD out? Best not be.....:eek::eek::eek::eek:
:) Learn from the past, enjoy and appreciate the present and work to make your future the best it can possibly be :)

    And get lots of glitches!

As I've reported before, I like to listen in on the morning "rumbles" to pick up any tit-bits of info. Heard the other day that new targets have been set to reduce wastage. So perhaps things may be slowly changing.

As a shareholder(very minor of course:rotfl:) I'm not too bothered as long as they continue to pay an excellent dividend. Warren Buffet (google him if you don't know) clearly thinks Tesco are a good bet as he has taken advantage of the recent share price drop to increase his holding from ~3% to ~5% making him one of the major shareholders. If it's good enough for Warren Buffet it's good enough for me:)

OH has a shares portfolio with a number of high street retailers but his portfolio manager has told him to avoid Ts for now, not sure why but ...

i'm not pregnant, but some might assume i am :rotfl: but it wasn't me.

Are there any of those money boxes or key rings left?

And what are those Disney stockings you got for 1p?

    Stupid lurkers. :mad::mad::mad::mad:

There was only one of the moneyboxes and the SA took the rest of the key rings...sorry.
The disney stockings are party/goody bags in the shape of a stocking/boot. The only ones I could find were the disney princess. Picture of two Sleeping beauty/snow white type girls on the front.
Says it has games sweets etc in them and they are on clipstrips with a £2 SEL
There are some for boys in the same shape too (got to be a boot/stocking shape)
I left loads, and I was served by a bloke so doubt he would have been interested!!
My husband says he will leave me if I don't stop shopping......... God I will miss that man.

Thanks for that Purdita. Off to T's tomorrow or Friday so will have a look.

Edit: No need to be sorry for the keyrings. Would rather you have them then a lurker.

OH has a shares portfolio with a number of high street retailers but his portfolio manager has told him to avoid Ts for now, not sure why but ...

Mr T has a huge investment in the USA ( aka uk retailers knackers yard)

Taking on (Wal-Mart) in the USA isn't as smooth as Wal-Mart ( ASDA) taking on Tesco in the UK.

Fresh and Easy..lol school kids could do better.

If USA goes back into recession, could see Mr T taking a battering and the share price will reflect their over ambitious venture hence fund manager being cautious in stock selection.
Back to square one, no apg, no comment.

May be something to do with the profits warning that caused a major slide in the share price but as Warren Buffet says: "Be scared when people are greedy and be greedy when people are scared". Looks like with Tesco he's following his axiom:) He's not one of the worlds richest men for nothing
    Awaiting a new sig

Ah, makes sense, OH has had a shares portfolio for quite some years, he is really into building them up. I have never really taken an interest (bad I know). It really peed him off that the biggest gain we made was from the shares I was given from one of the companies I worked for (now owned by forrester reseach, an IT advisory company). Mind you he had a fair amount given to him in Microsoft shares and some other investments that really paid off. I just don't think that the high street, in the current economic situation, is gonna give the returns it has previously and investments are gonna have to be much longer term than they have, which makes them much more vulnerable.
