Happy would like to apologise for being a GrumpyChappy this morning.
Sorry folks, hope everyones ok and that I never offended anyone?0 -
i can see where you're coming from in terms of it being hard work looking after little ones, even more so when they're poorly
Does your eldest attend any playgroups/mother and toddler etc?
................
I'm a bit old-school about stuff like this so apologies if this offends and its not aimed at you, just my opinion on society as a whole nowadays....;)
Not offended at all. DS1 was brought up around a dog but he was rehomed due to his behaviour changing (ex used to kick him). I don't disinfect work surfaces before I make up a bottle or make sure everything is 100% spotless. I'm sure I did things like making mud pies and eating worms and for sure I'm not wrapping my kids up in cotton wool.
I don't get to M&T groups or anything like that so that really only leaves Ts/shops. It maybe is just bad coincidence that each time they're ill it's 24-48 hours after seeing their father. He knew how I felt about his kid being around when not well (coughs & sniffles are fine but chest infections & chickenpox and the kid should have stayed with its mum).
And now he's hassling me again about the house. I wish he'd do one
But on a positive note, JJ, I am very envious! The best I have managed is a big batch of chilli or casserole. I had one of my 25p portions of casserole for dinner tonight (most of the cost was the sachet of casserole mix!). What I could do with are some easy recipes/suggestions for mince beef if anyone could help. Something fairly bland for DS but filling and easy frozen. I am coming down in mince but would cook chicken more often. Lasagne would be lovely but the ex was the one who made the bolognese bit (I only assembled the final product).0 -

jumblejack wrote: »I LOVE my thermal cooker.
Today I had chilli cooked in the slow cooker but my rice was cooked using hardly any electricity.
It is a huge pot that you can use on the stove with a tight lid. You get the contents to a rolling boil then pop it into the outer container which acts as a big thermos. It continues cooking for hours without any additional heat.
It is now cooking my rice pud (it is actually ready now as Oh has just polished a bowl off. Says its like a posh Indian restaurant's one!)
I got mine off eBay for about £35.
I use it all the time for loads of things.
If we go on holiday, I start something off in it then it is ready when we get there!!!
Thanks JJ, will be on the look out for slow cooker, do like idea of cooking once for 2 days and having some left in the freezer, in the 99p store today they had 8 plastic food contains with lids for..erm 99p.Back to square one, no apg, no comment.0 -

It probably would have been easier just to say yes on that occasion0 -

I knew what was going on, my son has aspergers and he likes to "prove a point" we all understand, (or should) so no harm done.
