Not a granny-style recipe but I remember making potato cakes a few years ago and Philadelphia cream cheese was added to the mash. It gave a fresh, slightly tangy taste to the mix. I suppose you could use the garlic and herb one for a tastier option.

Thanks, will try them with Philly and king teddy potatoes.

JJ you often talk about your thermal cooker - can you please tell me more as very interested.

    TIA xxx

    I LOVE my thermal cooker.

Today I had chilli cooked in the slow cooker but my rice was cooked using hardly any electricity.

It is a huge pot that you can use on the stove with a tight lid. You get the contents to a rolling boil then pop it into the outer container which acts as a big thermos. It continues cooking for hours without any additional heat.

It is now cooking my rice pud (it is actually ready now as Oh has just polished a bowl off. Says its like a posh Indian restaurant's one!)

I got mine off eBay for about £35.

I use it all the time for loads of things.

If we go on holiday, I start something off in it then it is ready when we get there!!!

Determination, the want to do it, If you are missing that then you are likely to fail. Secondly, eat well and eat healthily. Be prepared to work hard as HC will testify. I'm trying to catch my breath and the volume on the tv gets louder to drown me out.
