Slow cooked monster sized chilli yesterday made with 1.5k meat 80p, 4 tins toms £1, 2 tins kidney beans 34p, value granules, value cocoa (honestly!), Asian shop spices, garlic & half a net of onions 19.5p. Total cost around £2.50.
This fed a family at dinner time (not on photo). Also made a batch of rice (half a bag of glitched basmati 30p).
Leftover rice has made a HUGE apricot rice pudding too!
Also made 2 leftover pies. The leftover pastry made an apple pie with a few cheap dessert apples.
Leftover rice and chilli also portioned out for future meals in the freezer.
Total cost around £4 for all the above.
The pies in the picture are not cooked. They are all being batch baked now as I type.
The rice pudding is now finishing off in the thermal cooker. Just pulled it out for the piccie
Very impressed:T:T:T:T:T:T:TBeware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:0 -

Mine is the biggest crock pot in the world.
I will post piccie when I've washed it
I got mine with double up vouchers when the crock pot was half price. I can't remember how much I 'paid'. Probably around £25?:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

I save my leftover mash to add to cheese, onion and then I stick it in a pastry lined dish then top with tomato slices and bake. Or sometimes I mash in a tin of corned beef and do the same.
Wholesome and cheap as chips! (well, as cheap as mash)
Thanks that sounds lovely. Mash with cheese & onion is delish.
Next time I have a go at the potato cakes I will buy King Edwards to see if that improves the taste. I made them with whoopsied pots from Morrisons so I am not sure what they were.0 -
