But on a positive note, JJ, I am very envious! The best I have managed is a big batch of chilli or casserole. I had one of my 25p portions of casserole for dinner tonight (most of the cost was the sachet of casserole mix!). What I could do with are some easy recipes/suggestions for mince beef if anyone could help. Something fairly bland for DS but filling and easy frozen. I am coming down in mince but would cook chicken more often. Lasagne would be lovely but the ex was the one who made the bolognese bit (I only assembled the final product).

Cottage pie is my DD's favourite meal!, I also do a similar dish but with slices of potato on top and grated cheese.
I always add some diced carrots and celery if i have some, to the mince and onions.
Lasagne is dead easy, really good if you do the meat bit in the slow cooker for a few hours first.
Dry fry mince, add diced onion, peppers, garlic, tinned tomatoes, tomato puree, stock cubes, mushrooms, (I like a bit of red wine but you could leave that out) You can always use a jar of ragu or similar if you prefer!
Make up a white sauce using milk, flour, butter and some nutmeg.
Layer it up in the dish with the lasagne and sprinkle the top with mixed italian herbs, grated parmesan (I use Sainsbury's tub Italian hard cheese) cover in foil and cook in oven for about 40 mins. remove foil, sprinkle on some cheddar and cook for another 15 -20 mins
My husband says he will leave me if I don't stop shopping......... God I will miss that man.

The inside stoneware comes out to go straight on the table. It is a beautiful piece of dinnerware:

    fingers crossed

took precaution of fitting thermostatic smoke alarm in kitchen, and another 10 metres away in front room.

I always bulk out the meat in bolognese and lasagne mix (chopped mushrooms, grated carrot, chopped celery, courgette and peppers) and always big splodgies of Worcester sauce.
