I heard this too, we had a PTA meeting last week and were discussing events for this year and someone mentioned it, didnt quite believe it, how on earth can anyone do an olympic based community event to join in and support the olympics without using the 5 ring symbol?! Crazy!
I know it's nuts. There's also loads of stuff about the host boroughs and sponsors, like because Coke and McDs have the sponsorships there is to be no competitor advertising in those boroughs during the olympics. So I'm not sure what Stratford's Burger King are going to do :rotfl:
I would like to join some sort of anti-olympics group but all I've found so far is other people who want to highjack it for their own needs, eg to protest about anti-capitalism or palestine, yawn, important issues in their own right but shouldn't be put together with olympics.:starmod: DO IT NOW :starmod:0 -
Got a severe trouting earlier today on my first ever attempt at dtd. Picked up 2 Lazer Chase Stunt cars (kid's remote controlled cars), sel was £19.50 and they scanned at £39.97 each. Went to customer services and was fobbed off by two different sa's with excuses like 'different barcode' and 'this is new stock and the sel is for old RTC stock'. Both refused to give dtd so I had to come home in the end and contact HO.
HO were fantastic and agreed with me, phoned the store and rang me back to tell me to go back to the store to collect my dtd.
Unfortunately, when I got there I was met by yet another trout who either has no concept of what dtd is or pretended not to to try and bully me in to accepting just a refund.
Thankfully I managed to stand my ground and got £80 dtd in the end.
More and more now I want to take advantage of Tesco as much as I can. Their underhand practices at trying to confuse customers by using half price one week, then '2 for' the next week, bogof the third week, bog2f the fourth week, buy one get one half price the fifth week and so on just make me angry. Add to that the consistent reports on the forum of trouting after trouting, week after week, just make me want to get as many glitches from them as I possibly can.
Having said all that, I love Tesco!!0 -
I'm not usually political. Here's one of my paintings to prove it.:starmod: DO IT NOW :starmod:0

Thanks to DPhoenixUK I checked the New Bright Invader RC car today and it was scanning at £70, SEL said £35.00. The Red one did not have the £35 red spot label on it so that one seemed to follow me to the till, and thence to CS where I got £70 back. Free birthday present for grandson in a year or two!! No argument on DTD either, although she did ask if I noticed the price at the till, I told her I had a disabled chap behind me who seemed to like the feel of my jumper (true and rather creepy!!, but he didn't know any better and was driving his carer mad) so was distracted. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
