:rotfl:PAY DAY TODAY
:j
Have a teething baby so not had much sleep past few days, so my mind is working a little slow this morning. First tooth popped through on Wednesday, but the next one looks very close to the surface.
Bank balance looking rather healthy, opened a NCBS 3.7% 99 day ISA to put the £2000 to pay of 0% credit card. This is a fixed for 3 years but I can give 99 day notice which should be fine so long as I am organised!
Put £2000 into instant savings for the time being (where there is already £2000), so this will pay for new car & money for season ticket for train is tucked away. Still looks like we have enough money for bills without taking anything from DH business, so may leave that alone and withdraw his wage if and when its needed.
Found a car we like on Autotrader, up for £2600, but hoping if we turn up with £2000 cash they may be tempted. DH works in the industry so knows how to talk down a salesman :rotfl:
Rang up mortgage this morning to OP, however, they told me that the interest will only be recalc if I make an OP of £1000 or more. As the interest has just be recalc'd there didnt seem any point to do a little OP. So going to stick into savings and OP when I reach £1000. Need to open an OP instant access savings account, to tuck money away so we dont spend it!
Claimed first payment from SP yesterday ($10) should be in paypal next week and very close to a £10 voucher with valuedopinons. Also signed up to a secret product testing (it said I cannot talk to anyone about it:eek:) I cannot keep the products but they will pay me £15 for my time.
If DH finishs work this afternoon early we're off to friends furniture warehouse to buy some stuff to sell on Ebay as I had email this morning saying its free listing. Allowing ourselves £50 to spend, going to get small household items ie lamps, lets hope this works
Food spend is only £157 so far this month and I dont think we need to do a full shop next week, just get some veg & milk, so coming in under the £200 again. :T
Also off subject, my DS (8 months) is self feeding brilliantly, soo proud of her :happyhearMtg May 2011 - £127,500/825610% CC - £2211/2211Argos Card 0% - £253.95/208.950 -
Applied for the easy access 3.1% Santander account to make OP payments into. I've decided any cash I get from surveys/ebay sales/any extras will go straight into there. I've put £100 to start it off.Mtg May 2011 - £127,500/825610% CC - £2211/2211Argos Card 0% - £253.95/208.950

Not a NSD today! Had to get some veg so popped down local green grocers (yes the do still exist in some places!), they are pretty cheap for certain things, but can be pricey for some so you have to be careful.
Did spot that they sell 25kg bags of potatoes for £5, but I don't think I could pick that up myself(nearly half my weight!), but offer delivery for 50p so may take that option next time. Anyone know how long they will keep? I have a larder which keeps cool and dark away from the heat of the kitchen, where I normally keep my potatoes.
Also naughtily picked up a bottle of wineon offer for £3.50 so not too big a splash. Not bought alcohol for myself for about 3 months, I think I deserve it!

Getting a bit addicted to Ebay! Keep checking to see if anyone else has bid. Also DH is looking around to see what else we can sell. He's given me one of his guitar pedals which he never uses, listed it and got a bid within a few minutes! I'm sure he bought it for around £30, but they are selling on ebay for up to £60! We may even make a profit
But now he has picked up him Fender Mustang  - Ok he does have about 6 guitars and he has never played this one in a gig, but he bought this one when I was with him when we had just started dating and it is sooo pretty. It just sits as an ornament in out living room. I will really miss it if he does actually decide to sell. Its stupid me being soo attached to a guitar!

I've taken the plung and signed up to an ICB bookkeeping course. It should be pretty simple as I have already studied bookkeeping in part of my degree, so hopefully I can be an ICB member by the end of the year. Planning to get first exam under my belt before I return to work - 3 weeks today
Long term plan is to work for myself from home. My current career is very narrow & I have to work in London (which is over an hour commute away), so not very good with a family, so hopefully I can be more flexible. I know wage will be lower, but "Work-Life-Balance" means more to me at the moment.Mtg May 2011 - £127,500/825610% CC - £2211/2211Argos Card 0% - £253.95/208.950 -

Sounds like you have a good plan there. It's not worth sticking in a job you don't enjoy, even if the money's good, and it doesn't really make much odds why you don't enjoy it - not liking the commuting is as good a reason as not liking the work itself.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49
