  • I also think it's a good plan - I have a friend and she decided to work for herself in bookkeeping, she is very happy with that decision.

  • Thanks :D I just need to get focused & make sure I find the time to study! My plan is to use the afternoon nap time to get some studying done - housework can wait :D

My little girl is growing soo fast & is now into 9-12 months (12+ in trousers to fit over her nappy), so I'm going to have to go out tomorrow to get her some new clothes. Looking at their websites the spring range are now out and look SUPER cute, I need to focus on a budget, make sure I dont go mad!

Dont need anything yet, so going to save up for DD birthday in the summer

  • Mortgage payment went out today with the DD OP of £46.51, taking this years total to a massive £68.02!!!! long way to go to reach my target. I knew it was going to be a slow start until I return to work.

Went shopping for DD's clothes, I got 3 dresses & 3 tops for £26.50 in the sales, so not brilliant, but not too bad. There are quite a few outfits that I was tempted but I think I will go back next month, as most of the outfits that I saw were spring/summer.

Put £2000 into savings to pay 0% credit card which I'm getting my season ticket on & £100 into OP savings account. When this account gets to £1000 I will make lump sum off mortgage.

Figures are a little odd this month due to my money messing with season ticket & not taking money from DH business. I try to leave a few £K in his business account to cover expenses and save for tax. As he had to pay is tax bill in Jan most of this money went, so not going to take money out unless we have to, but still have a buffer of money there just in case.

Email received from ICB course that the study materials have been dispatched, getting excited :D, two full weeks before I start back at work. Not looking forward to that though. At least I have agreed to only work 2 days a week for the first month to work my way in.

Thanks it will be scary, but I'm sure it will be worth it :D

Received the course material for first module in the post at lunch time. I've had a quick read & it looks like I;ve covered this mostly before, so worked out a intensive study plan for the next two weeks (basically study when DD is sleeping :D - not v technical!). Really want to get the first exam out of the way by end March / beginning April.

Went to do the weekly shopping this afternoon with DH, and managed to spend £38! I have been spending in the low £30's, DH does have a tendancy of popping a few treats for himself in the trolley. However, I did pick up another bottle of wine  two bottles in two weeks! Cannot fall back into that routine!

Have a friend of the families 50th birthday on Saturday to go to. There will be a lot of people there that I haven't seen in a long time & have never met DD, so bought her a pretty new dress especially (plus she doesnt fit in anything she had in her wardrobe).

Had some money saving though, my friend was given some baby clothes from her sister-in-law for her little girl. However, her little girl doesnt suit dark colours, so she has given me 3 dresses & a load of Tshirts. They are all really good quality, however, DH has turned his nose up previously at having second hand clothes, but I think he can see the benefit as all these outfits would have cost new £50+ :money:

Ebay items have got a good few watches and bids on them. Total bids are currently £45.99, so hoping a few more before the bids are up on Sat/Sun

Going to do some batch cooking next week. Bought a load of stewing steak & tonnes of veg to make a big stew. And have 1kg of mince in the freezer to make a big chilli later this week. Want to make some meals ready for me returning to work to make sure we dont get lazy and resort to convenience food.

I have bought so many second hand clothes especially Next ones as they keep so well. Babies are in them for such a short time they have very little wear.

Good luck with ebay sales, I have 11 listings but not as much interest as yours.
    June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!
