When my first was born I had so many clothes, some of them he didn't even wore once - I gave most away, as I was so sure I won't have another baby:rotfl:
With babies 2nd hand often means the outfit was on once or twice only, so there is no difference really but a price:D
My OH also didn't like idea of 2nd hand, so I just didn't tell him which ones were given or bought in charity shop:A

We are the proud owners of a new car!! :j (well new to us :D) Its a year younger, but £100 cheaper than I expected & its a higher spec - all leather seats. Is that practical or not? But I finally have back doors!!!! No more climbing into the back of my Mini to get DD out of her car seat. Going to do a few bits on the Mini and get it on Autotrade asap. Want it on there by end of month. So not really a NSD for me :o

DH is currently in the garage polishing his new car

Batch of stew simmering on the stove, should be enough there for 4 day so going to freeze 2/3 batches for when I return to work. The cheap stewing steak I got from Morrisons the other day is delicious (should really stop picking at it :p).

Completed the first "lesson" of my course yesterday evening. Theres 5 lessons then study time, so should be able to be ready for exam in a couple of weeks hopefully. I think once the first exam is out of the way, it will give me a boost to keep going.

Off to get ready for a party for tonight, is it wrong to take a hip flask to a party in a hall with bar? :rotfl:

    Had a busy week!

Ebay sales finished on the weekend for £51, £40 and £18, so up over £100! When money has settled into account moving it straight into OP savings a/c

Car we bought is lovely! I'm not insured on it at the moment, so I still have to travel around in my mini but getting that sorted tomorrow.

Getting on really well with my studying, 3 out of 5 chapters complete. Hopeing to get it all studied before I go back to work 13 days!!! If poss to book my exam by the end of the month

Well not been on here in a while, been really busy.

My Mortgage free dream has hit a brick wall. I returned to work yesterday, and my Dad had an accident carrying my little baby girl down the stairs, which has left her with a fractured leg. I went straight to A&E when I got off the train to meet DH and my girl. It was soo horrible. We all spent the night in hospital and they discharged her this morning with her leg in a cast. It was lucky that she didnt have any head injuries and now doesnt seem in any pain with her leg immobilised, just really tired as she didnt sleep well last night & the drugs they have given her make her drowsy. But this has made me not want to return to work as I cant bear the idea of leaving her. I know it was an accident, but I want to be with her all the time to protect her.

Problem is we cannot afford to pay our bills without me working, I've tried to see if we can get any help from tax credits & as I have earned a lot in 2011/2012 we would only be entitled to £10 per week which is going to do nothing to help. We are short by about £500 working out average income by DH and a extremely tight budget of not spending anything (basically heat/light/food/mortgage).

We have a little bit in savings & going to sell my Mini which should be around £5000, which should cover us for a short while. Hoping to get qualified for a bookkeeping then I can work from home & flexible hours. Its just very hard at the moment :(

So sorry to hear that! Poor baby!
I know it was an accident, but I want to be with her all the time to protect her.
I completely understand that feeling! Babies suddenly seem so much smaller and fragile when they ill or injured!

It looks like it will be difficult for you now, but luckily you got your course and hopefully you will pick up work from home quickly. It's good to have back up plan! Good luck!

Thanks for your kind words. Little girl is on the mend already, she hasnt had any pain killers in a few days and she has been fine, however, 2 teeth popped through today, she has gone through a lot in past week.

Argh budget is getting even tighter!!! Gas & Elec bill came through yesterday and they are raising out DD by £42 per month!!! not what we need right now. Immediately turned heating OFF and going to go round house to see what we can save on elec.

On a good note, nearly ready for first exam, going to book it next week. 1 down 4 to go then I can start working!

Also, superpoints payout of £6.15, £20 from Ebay sales & £10 from lottery this week.

Your daughter's accident must have been so frightening and I can totally understand you not wanting to return to work. Hope your dad is ok too. Your little girl won't remember any of this. I hope you can find a way to afford to stay at home with her, you have to do what is right for you and your family.

Just done a mock exam for my course 99% (only took 30 mins instead of the 2 hours!) I got 1 question wrong!!! However I have WAY over studied! The exam was surprisingly easy, it is open book, but I didnt have any need at all to look at my notes. Going to book the official exam (online) and hopefully do it tomorrow. Wish me luck :D
