  • Thank you all for your good wishes, Jayk I can't believe you've gone to all that trouble of finding another computer - really hope you get it sorted ok - they're a lifeline aren't they?
I crashed mine back in july and lost all sorts, being a twit I hadn't backed it up......

The interview was great. I have to say that my OR (Examiner) was so professional and understanding that I was completely taken aback and have cried like Tiny Tears since I got off the phone.
It lasted only 30 minutes and she made it very easy to explain things and in turn explained her side very clearly.
I need to send in my statements as usual. They're photocopied and ready so won't take long to pack up.

Molly - I hope all is going well at the court xx
Em - tomorrow will be fine for you, I know it will xx

Now I do feel happy (even though the journey's just begun really), with the interview done I feel more confident to take on what's to come and change the entire way I deal with my finances.

I want to thank this fantastic forum again for the advice, support, humour and common sense that is generously given out - there is no way I would have got this far without you all, you're all :A :A :A :A:A :A xxxxxxx

(.........sounds like an Oscar acceptance doesn't it??!!)

So glad for you Flo - sadly my app is not tomorrow but next Friday - although my husband has just gone to deliver all my pack of stuff to OR including all statements I had etc to try and make next Friday a bit faster if possible. I think mine is a bit more indepth perhaps because Ive been self employed - well you know, as far as that is ever the case. Expecting a call from the CPN soon re: that side so just trying to keep on top of what I can as best I can at moment without doing anything silly.

When you speak of next stages guys what do you mean moving forward wise - Ive been so consumed with actually getting this far I haven't thought too much about after - Ive read about credit file clear ups - but is that after discharge? I know we all have to change how we deal with money and thats the biggest hurdle probably but what "officially" after the interview and any odd questions from OR?

    xx

Hi everyone, welcome to the February 2012
    Bankruptcy Club.

This club is for everyone who has gone or going through the process of Bankruptcy during February 2012. So please feel free to join and post.

Pop your name on here, the date that you went Bankrupt and the stage that you are at now in your Bankruptcy. And then just keep everyone in the club updated throughout the next year about your journey through Bankruptcy. That way we can all stick together and compare notes and we will be there to support each other throughout the different stages in our Bankruptcy.

Remember this is your board so keep posting.

Obviously anyone can come on here and post anything that will help us all and you are all welcome. Any important questions that do need answering are maybe still better posted on the main board but if you do put it on here, then maybe we can help each other.

Hopefully it will be an extra place for friendship and support as we compare notes and discuss what is happening with our Bankruptcies.

Please leave a post when you have been declared BR, and I will update the list.

*PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE TOO MUCH INFO, THE IS ARE KNOWN TO FREQUENT THIS SITE AND TOO MUCH INFO MAY MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO IDENTIFY INDIVIDUAL CASES, SO KEEP INFO TO A MINIMUM, ie USERNAME AND DATE ONLY."

Nothing really Emma to do until 2/3 months after discharge then the Credit file clean up.

Have a look at TF's thread for help post BR

  • Hi Em, I'm so sorry, I think that was wishful thinking on my part for your interview! Still, the time will go quickly and it will soon be over for you.

I think what I meant was the year that lies ahead, and in my case, giving up my home which I've put so much money and time in to (and with it's lovely garden and loads of space)...so I now have to sort lots out as far as movng out and closing up the house and saying goodbye to the dreams I once had.
I have faced up to reality and know that now I can't even pay the mortgage, never mind maintain or improve it but I'll feel homesick for a long time to come.

I'm very lucky, I'm moving in with my Mum who has been a tower of strength but who has her own health problems so I know that quite soon I will be caring for her and this may impact upon our relationship.
I have always intended to look after her (my Dad died not so long back) and knew that it was quite probable I would have to move in as she is now quite disabled - but very determined to keep going, despite the amount of pain she's in.

As far as the BR process goes, I think Jayk (sorry to put words in your mouth Jayk), and I meant that we'll be getting the statements etc off to the OR and any further questions that may come from them, Jayk has the car to sort out - and now her pc has keeled over, all the little details of ensuring DDs are properly set-up, keeping an eye on the cashminder, wary of the 3 strikes rule, stricter budgeting - even though we all probably couldn't get any more strict with ourselves!

....and then of course dealing with how we feel about the BR - coping with the emotions it brings up and finally understanding the cause, certainly in my case this has been a true "light-bulb" occurrance.

Please Em try to not to worry too much, your OH has done the best thing taking your statements etc in, you'll be able to get all that sorted there and then and if the OR needs anything else she can explain why on the day.
I also think that her calling you was such a good sign, understanding just how difficult you'll be finding this process.
If your CPN can be with you, and we're all with you in spirit (standing right behind you, giving you hugs!!), then you will come through the interview relieved and smiling again.
Don't be concerned with Jayk and I talking about going forward, we're now a stage further on, and it is just one step at a time xx

    With love to you xxxx

thanks Guys - I think after the meet next Friday Im goinh to my absolute level best to try and not think about BR for a whole weekend -

I am convinced Ill get a BRO because my major debtor is HMRC - if this happens can you just clarify what will happen - I know its an extension of the restrictions like no credit and cant be a governor at school and cant trade under a different name without telling BR, but do you still get discharged after 1 year. Also, sorry for questions, who decides on the BRO - will HMRC ask the OR to impose or will she decide herself? and is there any way to appeal if I do get a BRO on medical grounds? I know Im overthinking just now but just trying pre-empt (sp?) what might happen and if it does what I can do to better it if anything.

I feel like Im drowning again after having the questionnaire in post from OR and the document which tells you what restrictions are placed on you....
    xx

PS - Dojoman has said to refrain from too much detail as IS come on here on occasion - is that a bad thing? Wouldnt they already know about all of our cases anyway? Im worried now - Id be very easily identifiable but since Ive been 100% genuine I don't know why that would cause a problem - can someone tell me, I feel really stupid!!

    Just seen this,

Just shows no matter who you are.....
  • Yes we should be careful what we commit to the forum but, as you say, you've been honest so you have nothing to hide from anyone therefore nothing to worry about Em :)

I'm not sure about the BRO/U part, hopefully someone else will be able to answer those questions for you. In the meantime I'll have a search about for you.

In the meantime go and have a nice cuppa xx
