[STRIKE]What's happened to the Green Tick to let us know when we have entered a comp. I had it until I came on to this thread - & now its disappeared. Its the most useful thing on the comps board - don't have to go through every bloomin post to check if I have entered or not.[/STRIKE]
Thank goodness the Green Tick is back - back to serious comping. :T:T0 -

I'm using the old version, but I'm finding that the text in the Title box is misaligned, I'm getting random red crosses, and the screen just looks strange.
What's going on???
Even the search facility isn't working! It is a scientific fact that your body will not absorb calories if you take it from another person's plate.:A :A :AChocolate is the answer and I don't give a damn whatthe question is.;)0 -
Hello,
Just a quick note to those of you who have seen their green tick (entered) icons vanished from the forum display page (where you see the threads). Please can you let me know what operating system and browser you are using. So that I can try and replicate the problem. Thank you.

[STRIKE]Using IE8 Window XP with service pack 3
I have the green tick in Morzilla, but can't use that all the time. So is it an IE8 problem[/STRIKE]
Sorted thanks0 -
Have joined the masses and had to change to stretchy too. Not much point having a widescreen monitor and having the edges of the screen blank.
Picked the 'less bright option' but can't see any difference. The white background is blinding - a grey would be kinder on the eyes. Lots of MSE'rs will be hunting down spectacle offers unless the background white colour gets changed.
Finally why have such a HUGE masthead? Half of it could be removed by deleting the following text from it:IMPORTANT! This is MoneySavingExpert's open forum - anyone can post

Afraid I've switched to stretchy too - agree with the other comments about huge blocks of white screen at the sides on a widescreen being really hard on the eyes ..... sorry.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Whenever we had a new computer system and it didn't work as planned the computer company called it a "feature" looks to me that this new design is the same thing. I can see no reason why anybody would design a website where everything was crammed into the center... If the MSE management need advice on how to get their money back, the people who frequent the consumer threads board often helpful..."The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

the only probable solution is to create an illusory effect - for instance the outlines and the bakground to be darkened so that our focus is just the forum; at the moment it is all blending into one with empty space around specially when your screen is wider
Or use the white space (not the mottled grey) on the right where the news/panels are. They dominate nearly a quarter of the screen which is far too much in my opinion. I don't know how often they are used (I'm sure MSE have figures from link clicks) but I never do.0 -
Hi folks,
We're reading the thread and monitoring it - as I've said above - we're going to do some tweaks to the fixed width to get more space there. ANd we'll be looking at feedback from non-regulars to see the impact on site use.
To those threatening to "never post here again" that of course is your prerogative, we think fixed is the right course for the site's future, but like to give users choice and have given a stretchy option as explained many times above.Martin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.
