I appreciate the text might be good for some readers, but I'd like the option to reduce it please.0 -
I like the fixed width once I've opened a thread, it does look much nicer and makes the posts easier to read even on my widescreen monitor with all the wasted space either side.
BUT on the list of threads part of the forum, it squishes the titles up together too much by putting some of the longer ones over 2 lines which makes it harder to read them so easily to find ones of interest to me that I want to open and read so for that reason I'll have to go back to the stretchy version as wellJust become FTBs & Aiming to be mortgage free by 2034

I'll add to those to my post, forgot that Firefox required greasemonkey to be installed as it isn't by default!
Or you can also use stylish to force your own width settings.@namespace url(http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml); @-moz-document domain("forums.moneysavingexpert.com") { .forum_container { margin: 0 auto; width: 1200px !important; min-width: 1000px; } }
Just change the red value to what you prefer.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

if you look at the options, there are so many of them available to set our screen, which is a good thing
howver if you choose stretchy screen, a scroll would appear at the bottom of the page and that just takes away some page space0 -
I'm on the fixed width and the bits on the right aren't even sticking within the boundaries, in fact none of it seems to fit very well in firefox at all it's all misaligned and messy. I have a widescreen laptop so I can view more of the screen without wearing my index finger out from scrolling too much. A % based css instead of a fixed css would have been more appropriate. I hate to think what this site is going to look like when I plug my laptop into my 42" tv like I do when I need to use a bigger screen for work.Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

on most pages fixed width seems to be as it should be, but on certain pages the info boxes on the right are half in the fixed width and half out
eg on this thread (viewing 40 posts to a page) pages 1, 4 and 5 are fine but pages 2 and 3 are not
would post a screenshot but not sure how to??

it isn't the gray color that is the issue, it is just the grainy matte look that just doesn't blend into the rest of the colors or background0

Just been playing with that, and I think something like 85-90% looks best for me.
Retains the new look somewhat, but gives back enough forum space to make it usable again and not so painful to look at.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
