Hi all . I've skimmed through the pages I missed and forgot most of it .
I did see the kitchen Fuds and it's very much to my taste . It's timeless and perfectly planned to maximise the space .
I'm wondering if Candlelight and Himself are on their annual hols . Haven't seen any mention of it but she doesn't seem to have posted recently . Hope all is well x
Well DD was at the hospital on Wednesday crack of dawn . A necessary but very painful procedure as they had to talk to her throughout and couldn't use a general anaesthetic only a local .
She has a very high pain threshold but struggled this time although only I could tell by looking at her eyes . The doctor was amazed but i heard the reality afterwards .
The calcification was much worse than previous xrays and us scans had shown so she will need more barbotage in a few weeks .
Meanwhile she's still in pain and not sleeping much . Hopefully when the second treatment is done and she is able to have physio it will prove worthwhile .
Thanks again for your support . I know you can't see this at the moment Monna but I told her you were storming heaven's gates on her behalf on it cheered her up and made her smile . Hope you're back online soon . Still sending the bungalow vibes but will add your name this time as maybe they went to your son instead !!!
Take care everyone . Sunny , cold and very windy here today . Perfect drying weather so need to summon up the energy to bring the washing in and hang out more .

Good afternoon all, I'm just back home and having a nice cup of tea which is very pleasant. Last week with Ruthie and the boys and this weekend with Nell have been the best of family times but now I'm looking forward to having a quieter 'normal' time where it's routine and slower paced. The train was a 'proper' train this with 3 carriages and padded seats so much comfier than the last two times I've come home from Nell. We have nothing specific planned for this week, it will be nice to get back to domesticity and processing of produce and just being us.
POLLY I hope by now your daughters discomfort will be less, poor girl, poor you having to just watch and wait and be able to do nothing about it, I hope she's less sore and battered by now.
LAINEY I hope your heart has accepted the decision by the lady to sell the prospective new horse to someone else, unkind and very sad BUT I think there is always a reason for these things happening and in the fullness of time you'll be able to look back from a better place and see that reason and understand. I think dear old Bill has someone better in mind for you and in the not so distant future you'll find each other, as I've being saying to Fuddle for years some things are meant to be and I think she's actually beginning to believe me now!!! xxx.0 -
Quick hello from me on a lovely sunny day . Hope all are well and have some sunshine too .
Thank you for your kind words Lyn . You've been so busy I imagine getting back to normal day to day routine is quite relaxing .
DD is in a little less pain now and finally getting some sleep . She was fortunate that at her doctors appt a few days prior to the Barbotage she had pointed out a spot on her wrist which is always an indication her Psoriasis is about to flare which in turn flares both the Arthritis and Fibro , Dr wrote a 5 day prescription for a strong oral steroid course which she began that day , she finished them the day before the hospital trip and I think that prompt action plus the steroids injected during the treatment held of the flare .
She had some amazing bruising which is now starting to fade , I wish they didn't have to do the whole thing again in the next few weeks but am grateful such treatment exists .
I think you're right about BillyE biding his time and choosing the moment . I hope you have managed to move forward with the counselling by now Lainey , it can be a long wait but worth it .
Take care all .

Hi
Sorry all, I've been reading on and off but in the midst of a very difficult situation at work which has life changing implications for a couple of people so I feel like I can't focus on anything much else.
Hoe everyone is well and I can get back to being a bit more active on the thread soon.0 -
Hello everyone.
I've been MIA for a while too but nothing much just pottering and end of term parental involvement for school fund raising events.
I've spoken to the leader of our allotment committee and it seems the council are now getting heavy for allotment holders who don't tend their plots. They have till September to show a marked improvement and if not they will lose their plot resulting on the next person on the list acquiring it... that's me2 are working on them (the letters were sent a month ago) 1 has got a digger in and is clearing it and one has made noises it's time for him to go and has not done a thing yet. I'm hopeful as he hasn't even started working on it yet.
In preparation, I'm planning. DH is beginning to accumulate wood at work again. I'm saving things to pot in, bottles for cloches that sort of thing and I'm educating myself on chicken keeping. I've sorted through my seed stash and rid of out date ones and know what I need should it be all systems go.
We're growing perennial herbs for topping up the rabbits food. Thankfully she devours mint which is flying in the pot atop the hutch. I'm using the old hook that I left in ceiling during the kitchen redo for air drying herbs for the winter. The race is on to try to get glass jars from anyone who will give them.
I have apple seeds from 3 varieties in wet kitchen paper in the fridge. I'm hoping they will germinate but I'm a realist and know it's highly unlikely a novice can get going with this sort of thing... but I'm gunna try any way
The slugs have found the hosta in the yard (it's a full time job keeping the rabbit away - she's partial to hosta too!) I had a collection of small change that belonged to mam that I have kept in drawer. I've glued the copper coins to a wooden stake and popped it in the hosta pot. Apparently slugs don't like copper so that and the ever growing broken up eggshells in there might just save it.
My front garden has been dug over, has the weed membrane down and is 1/3 covered with bark. I've saved some of the shrubs that were there but bought baby ones from a nursery for a cheaper price. I did want the front garden to work and be edible but I just want a pretty area that I can potter about in. One of the shrubs is a Magnolia Susan. I love magnolias (I still mourn the loss of my stellata from the house I lost) so a magnolia in there was a must. Susan? That was mam's name. Felt right.
I have lost my hips! It's a combination of not being addicted to bread anymore, not eating processed items, loving salad season and an improvement in my fitness levels due to the hill. I think always being on the go and 'pottering' is having positive effects too.
Youngest DD swerved the fidget spinner craze but she's into the JoJo bow craze. I'll give her that one but am I 'eck paying £10 for a bow. No. I have a glue gun and now, thanks to ebay I have crocodile clips and ribbon. I help her make her own - when she's asked what brand her bow is she feels good about saying she made it herself - thank goodness! Long may that continue!
Finally DH and I had a couple of Lidl alcoholic drinks last night (he lager, me cider) and I now have 4 glass bottles ready for the cold busting elderberry syrup. Cork stoppers are on the need list.
I have stewed apple and raisins in the SC so best sign off. I need to get them out and put a tin of condensed milk in for SC caramel to have it with the apples after tea. Tea will be mince and onions and dumplings with gifted allotment cauli and frozen brussels cooked then fried with the bit of streaky bacon that's left.
So as you can see I'm ok plodding on like a pig in muck using and making. Love to allx

Hiya FUDDLEY ONE, what a busy bee you are, fabulous news on the allotment front too, everything crossed that one comes free in early September for you, the best possible time to start clearing and digging the plot over for next year. Are you allowed sheds? if so your Oh So Clever Dearly Beloved could feasibly build you one from scrap wood if he could lay his hands on enough pallets to store your gardening equipment in, a reclaimed door on the front and Robert is your Mothers Brother as they say! If you do find you can keep chickens I've a couple of books on 'how to' on my self sufficiency shelf one of which will wing its way to you if you'd like it??? I think, reading your last few posts, that my girlie has found real 'home' and real 'homey satisfaction' in all you do and have.....it's been a while coming hasn't it love? but Oh My Word doesn't it make me HAPPY for you, you've earned every single molecule of it sweetie, the hard way in some cases and the doggedly determined way in all the rest, what a wonderful thing to be able to feel and say, blessings!!!0
