Well DH has just departed for a day walking in the Lakes... I opened the curtains to see rain! Doesn't feel any cooler though. Hope he doesn't come home early as I have several jobs in mind for while he's out :D

We were at Ullswater on the Steamers at the Weekend Floss. Love the Lakes but so does many other people and that puts me off. Grumble, grumble. Haha

Just popping in this morning to let you know that you and your family are in my thoughts today, Lyn. Everyone else will be feeling it but little man won't know. I know those words don't help but it's true. Nothing too much today Lyn eh? Just pottering will do. x
  • He's in surgery NOW!!! I've just topped and tailed 4 kilos of gooseberries from the allotment to go into the freezer, picked and frozen 1 kilo of loganberries, picked lots of French beans and some more courgettes from the polytunnel and made a massive jar of pesto with some of the basil forest in there, kitchen is hot because I'm cooking some beetroot also from there so I'm keeping as busy as I can so I don't have time to think!

He'll spend a few hours on the recovery ward after his op and Ru will let us know how he is when he wakes up. Hopefully they'll be home this evening, I'll let you know xxx.

    Still praying Lyn.

Fingers crossed for your DD polly. What a birthday present it would be if all goes well.
Your turn for my prayers next week!
I believe that friends are quiet angels
Who lift us to our feet when our wings
Have trouble remembering how to fly.
  • Bless every single one of you, thanks for your thoughts, love and prayers. Orley is back on the ward, the op went very well and according to Ruthie he's having a snack! They will keep him for a few hours to monitor that all is well and hopefully he'll be home this evening, thank goodness that's over.

We now have a beautiful new carpet in the bedroom and have moved the wardrobes back in. The lovely little carpet layer is melting slowly in the hall and laying the underlay on the stairs poor lad! He's doing a smashing job it's going to look so much better!!!
  • They're home again and Orley is in a much better mood now he's had his tea. Ruthie has just sent us a gorgeous picture of a small babbit in his bouncy chair with his face almost covered in yoghurt and a dear little grin!
  • Have been out most of the day.

That is good news Lyn, children seem to bounce back so easily and it sounds as though he is enjoying his tea. Must have been difficult this morning because he probably wanted his breakfast.

Anyway all over now, just the healing process and how relieved you must all be.

Sending lots of cuddles to Orley and his gorgeous brother Zebra

Evening all, nice to 'see' you again. Fuddle, your new kitchen is gorgeous, you must be delighted to have such a beautiful space!! :) MrsL, glad to hear the littlie is doing well after his op. :) Everyone else, hugs and congrats as required, haven't read all the way back.

I've finished uni after 3 very tough years - life has chucked so much carp my way it's unbelievable - and I've only bl00dy passed, with a 2:1!! My wonky brain still insists it's not good enough, but at least I've passed, and I feel so relieved. Mum's house is sold, so another line to draw, but I still miss her so very much.

All the stress of the last several years has resulted in a diagnosis of stomach ulcers, too, and my head isn't always in a good place, but on a good day I'm glad to be here, so am taking the opportunity to re-connect with my online 'friends'! :D

    A xo
