Hello everyone,
Just back in from seeing Mum, she had another bad night so very tired but did manage some bovril and later a cup of tea. It's incredibly hard to watch her manage so little but it hurts so much when she eats who can blame her for not wanting anything, she does take morphine 30 mins before which does make it a tad more comfortable.
Am not meant to be going over tomorrow as meeting up with a friend but my poor SIL has a cold so will be ready to step in if necessary, DM is then coming to us over the weekend through to Tuesday to share out the care.
SM, feel your pain with people seemingly thinking that it's ok to comment on some personal aspect of your life, down the years have heard most opinions on my own childlessness and it's often said with no idea of the discomfort they could be causing
Now sitting in the sofa with a real cba feeling, neither of us want much in the way of tea but darling CS has opened a bottle of red wine so think we will just snack on cheese etc
Thinking of you all with love xx0 -
Lainey, it is such a difficult time for you all, just watching Mum fading is so hard, but you are all doing your utmost to make Mum comfortable. At least she isn't in hospital and she has the comfort of either your home or your DBs.
I know how helpless you feel, but you are doing absolutely everything right an surrounding her with love.
I think cheese and biscuits and a glass of wine sound ideal to me, and you have Capt Scarlet to cuddle up to as well.
Sending you hugs and much love

Oh Lainey, this is such a hard time for you. You will be in so many thoughts and prayers tonight
You are giving your DM the sort of loving care and comfort that we would all wish for at the end of our lives.
All love and many hugs.

Lainey big big hugs from Blackpool - been there, consumed the red wine & cheese, got the t-shirt. Let Capt.S look after you now & again, he will be wanting to try and ease your heartache.

Good evening everyone, I'm up with Nell for another concert tomorrow night in the Cathedral, this one is Handels Messiah and truly will start Christmas for both of us. It IS the catalyst that starts us feeling festive and the most beautiful music and words sung so sensitively in the magnificence of the Cathedral is breathtakingly beautiful, I'm so looking forward to it. I think we might go to Cheltenham for the morning so I can get myself another pair of Hotter boots, the pair I have is the most comfortable I've ever known and they are making the same style this year in a different colour so I hope they have my size. Good journey up on the train, had a seat all the way and had time to go through the house, do the ironing, make tea and get the stove lit before she came home. Nice to have a cuppa and a chat in the warm and we've just had Grunkohl and Frankfurters for our supper with some German mustard like we have in the Christmas markets in Berlin. Classic FM on in the background, Nell is wrapping presents, Pushycat is curled up on his sheepskin in his basket and I am warm, fed, content and sleepy.....doesn't get any better than this.....Night!!! xxx.0

Enjoy Lyn, enjoy! Say 'ello to Nell for me
Hotter shoes? I look at them when I pass a store but walk away because of the price. They are my kind of shoe (I wear a the cheaper cushion walk brand from the original factory shop with the velcro) but go through them at a rate of knots with all the walking I do.
Mam's house has been valued and a plan is unfolding. Halifax have given the go-ahead for our house to be valued and I think surveyed. Thats booked for Tuesday. Also DH has relented and we are in agreement that we shall have a multifuel stove and solve the hearth problem like Lyn suggested by adding an extra layer at floor level... eventually.
I have a cough and cold so if im not vit C popping I'm honey guzzling. Worrying it might turn but no pain when breathing and heart rate is behaving so fingers crossed.0 -
Fuddle
There are online clearance sales when they are a lot cheaper and that is what I have been doing.
There is an outlet centre near Castleford which has much cheaper prices and there might be one near to you."This site is addictive!"

Anyone else find themselves looking at candle displays, floral displays, greenery and battery operated lights and visulise them in fuddle's fireplace? Its not that we have more patience as we grow older, its just that we're too tired to care about all the pointless drama0
