Pollyanna
I think you've misunderstood a factual post as being a negative personal post and not read the article either #puzzled.0 -
Don't do the Daily Mail, prefer a grown up newspaper !0

Two viewings booked for Monday morning my friends. They are both stone fronted little things. They are even higher and even more rural than we are now but still within catchment for DD's school transport and although a very long hilly walk we can make it to the primary school from there, as well as use the bus. Who knows eh?
Chimney breast in place, one with an inglenook and one with plasterboard and electric fire... I wonder what lurks behind?!
There's a lot to be said for a mind that is happy in the thought of flickering warmth amongst her family. I want for very little but I really would like those flames but lets not forget I am not shallow... I am a prepper and the thought of controlling my own warmth, hot water, cup of tea heck even follow Lyn's footsteps and learn how to make bread about the stove means a lot in terms of those feelings of security and preparedness.
Everything is bad for our health money, everything... not least negativity.
Edited to add as got distracted:
I have picked up some fabric today. I am going to try a patchwork quilt. I'm choosing country-esk fabrics to be used in my hopeful new bedroom. I have my doubts as to whether I can do what my mind has in place justice but there's oodles of help online. I figured it would give me something practical to do and learn that will be part of the new future while the new future as in a standstill mode. It beats jumping up and down on here asking about imaginary scenarios eh? :rotfl:0 -
Hmm....fresh air, healthy diet, clear conscience, good friends, lack of financial worries and that's the first few things that come to mind as being positively good for one's health.
Doing better than I thought there..:)0 -
You are lucky then money. You have all those positivities in your life yet you chose to inflict unnecessary negatives on people who are trying to get by, trying to deal with unpleasant and sad situations, trying to eek out as much positivity in adversity as they can.
The people of this thread just want to help because in the helping they can get some sort of good feeling amongst their pain.
Please, not here money.
G'night my friends0 -
As stated - I was putting up an objective post - with link to article for people to read for themselves.
I wasn't making negative personal comments. I would appreciate not receiving any either. Different opinions are just that = different opinions.0 -
Buy yourself a woodstove FUDS and to hell with the rest of the world, yours is the only opinion you ever need to listen to, you and you alone know what is right for you and yours and NO ONE has the right to tell you otherwise. Go get life and make it as you want it, you've got the courage to do just that, go get em kid!!!0

An objective post, saying everyone and his dog has a woodburner and an article in the Daily Mail, yeah right. Its not that we have more patience as we grow older, its just that we're too tired to care about all the pointless drama0

Me neither Lynn a good prepper always looks behind and beyond the headlines , questions reason , motivation and the huge amounts of money that promote and support many of those headlines then looks to real sources for information .
Candlelight Thank you for your reply to my question re hearing aids - very informative and helpful . They are part of the jigsaw our doctor , dd and myself are currently building using every diagnosis since childhood . Yesterday he administered a steroid injection into her shoulder following the xray and imaging he personally ordered following the rheumo debacle . The results showed calcification of the bones and much inflammation . As a result we left the surgery with a referral for imaging on the other shoulder and one for audiology . He is wonderful , it's like Miss Marple at times but well worthwhile .
Much love

Fuds can I admit I'm really looking forward to your posts and questions ? I hope one of those houses has your name on it . You mastered the crochet and the knitting and I'm sure the patchwork will be the same . Accurate cutting and patience will get you there . I am a willing source of much random information . I can tell you how to make a low cost footstool should you ever need one
I know things will fall into place for you and you will get the warm , cosy and nuturing , loving life you all deserve .
Sleep tight and happy dreams sweetheart
