WD40!!! cures most creaky joints and does what it says on the tin!
Lidl is amazing isn't it? occasionally they have a themed section and if I'm really lucky it's the Sodergarten Swedish foods and then I really DO stock up!!!
The flu jab has never given either of us any problem, we both really believe in prevention rather than cure so I've always had the mammogram, cervical smear test, any preventative vaccine going for myself and the girls when younger and so has He Who Knows. I don't have any doubts or uncertainties over anything that is more likely to help us than hurt us. I'd rather do all I can to stay well and NOT add to the burden of cost of the NHS by NOT taking advantage of health aids offered. Just me and how I think!
Go, go, go that FUDDLE on Monday!!!
He Who Knows was successfully jabbed too!0 -
Yes Lyn, we do too. We have had the shingles jab and the pneumonia one, and will be having our flu jabs later this month.
Prevention being better than cure

Haven't had the shingles one yet nor has He Who Knows he wasn't the right year age group last year and they don't start until you're 70 if I remember rightly so I've got a year and a bit to go before I'm eligible BUT when I am and they offer I'll say yes please without hesitation!0

Yes you are right Lyn, 70 is the age, and I understand they are expensive, so we are very lucky our NHS funds it. I had shingles when DD2 was one year old and it was so painful, around my waist and down my tummy.

Fuddle mammograms can be from 45-7 depending on area and if you are randomly chosen for the national trial. Otherwise it is from 50.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Morning all, and what a beautiful morning it is, blue skies and bright sunshine here today and no rain forecast either. Up bright and early after the first decent nights sleep I've had for weeks, must have been appreciably cooler as I was comfy under my light quilt. He Who Knows continues to improve but is still not 100% so he'll be sent to our own GP this week if things don't improve from here. House clean and tidy, beds made, washing done and up, Cookie walked (by him!) and our evening meal sorted so I think we'll pop over into Sussex as one of the big estates there has an Apple Day today which I love as the real start of Autumn. They have extensive walled gardens and hothouses too and a walled orchard with a proper thatched apple store in it. You can try some of the old varieties of apple and even buy some to take home if you want to. It will be nice to go out to an 'event' and enjoy some of this lovely day. Hope you all have a lovely Sunday, Lyn xxx.0

Hi everyone,
Well, it's barely stopped raining here fore the last week. I had to get the train all the way home with my bike on Friday evening and today I have brought the car. So frsutrating. I do see some hardy souls out cycling to work in the tipping rain, but that's not me quite yet.
It was DH's birthday on Saturday and he wanted a smart casual jacket. We went to all the fancy places he likes, but sadly they didn't fit (strangely, they didn't fit around the biceps). Anyway, I finally talked him into looking in the department store and he found one there that was significantly cheaper than the others he'd looked at, and it fitted him so he got that. He's quite a woman really, he loves to shop whereas I don't at all. Unless it's a bike shop, I can spend hours there. Anyway, one of my cousins dropped in with a gift for him and stayed for a cup of tea, and another cousin will drop in soon. Makes him feel a bit special.
Sunday was our free electricity day (we get one about every 6 months from the power company) so I had the oven, washing machine and tumble dryer on all day. Did about 8 loads of washing (I'd saved up towels and tea towels), roasted 10 chicken carcasses for stock and the pickings for pies/risotto etc, made up 3 huge batches of gumbo. Also got the dyson out for the horrible spots I really hate doing, like under our bed. We've still not replaced the dishwasher, it's been 3 over 3 months since it died and I honestly haven't missed it.
Better dash and do some work,
much love to you all,
Hoglet x0 -
Oh what I would do with a free electricity day! Pleased you made good use of it hoglet
please what is gumbo?
I had a meeting (last minute, didn't find out tilk Saturday AM!) today re: DDs needs. It's the last bit of fight I had to do and now in the hands of cognition and learning team. DD will have a host of assessments after half term. She's come home with a special pen and they have put her on a memory boosting programme. I am drained from the whole process. Honestly it feels like SEN in this school has been no better than the 80s when DH was schooled but we have agreed to wipe the slate clean and work together. Yey! To no more barriers
I'm making sausage pasta bake with garlic bread. Not HM and the pasta bake is from a jar. I'm just too tired what with volunteering this morning too.
Our charity shop has some male jumpers in so I will go back tomorrow to get DH one if they are still there.
The kettle calls but I wish my acid reflux was gone because oh I do fancy a Baileys coffee... eeek on a school night! Naughty girl for even thinking it :eek:0 -
Well done small one!!! xxx.0

Hello all,
Quick visit whilst the strata bakes in the oven, love the pesto / cheesy smell, nom nom.
Not long back from visiting Mum at DB, she has seen both her brother's which is lovely and SIL's sister is coming to do her hair tomorrow which she is very much looking forward to. She had a quick trip out this morning to get some birthday cards etc which she enjoyed but tired her out. She needs to go back to hospital on Wednesday to see the bag lady as she calls her
Am loving these last, warm sunny days although the temperature drops quickly as soon as it sets, the heating kicked in this morning but as we only have 3 radiators currently turned on it just takes the chill off really.
Other than that not much to report, things sound much more positive Fuddle, hope they continue.
Hoglet, likewise on the shopping unless it's a garden nursery or a tack shop, then my bank manager goes into panic mode!
Must dash, tea is ready, love to all
