I woke up to 7" of lovely snow, the RV is out playing with his shovel and I'm drinking tea and cuddling the cat at the fire :)
  • Meeooowwwww!!!
  • Good morning, it is bitterly cold this morning.

We have been to see DD and to take a chest of drawers I no longer need since re-organising my wardrobe, and it leaves more room in our bedroom.

I don't drink so I ate chocolate last night. I shouldn't be eating that, being diabetic, but I thought one night wouldn't harm me, and I did really enjoy it. DGD1 came home from work bearing a red rose plant for me, how kind is that?

Lainey well done on the second interview and good luck. It must be hard going through interviews again, I hope it goes well.

    Have a good day all

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Morning everyone!

Candlelight - that is FANTASTIC news, I'm so pleased to hear it. And chocolate makes an excellent celebration. Thanks for you kind words to me too, and in answer to your question, yes NZ is hilly - mountainous too in many parts. Although Auckland is rather hilly, the bit we live in is flat, but surrounded by hills, so unless I want to do lots of small loops, hills it is. I get my bike back today from the workshop and there is nothing more to pay for the work they did, hooray!

MLW - hope the cooking and housework went well, and that you've managed to warm up!

Well, I've survived my first week back at work. Taking the afternoon off today to take DH for an injection in his shoulder, and hoping to find some shoes for me for work in the sale before I take him. My current pair have worn right through so I must find something soon.

Tomorrow we're having another swap party and my cousin's house so I've got a few bits to take along. Last year I got some great bits and bobs, so fingers crossed. Then on Sunday it looks like I'm going back to the PYO blueberry farm - thay only charge $10 a kilo (under 5 pounds) and it's great fun. They also do the best blueberry icecream in the cafe - definitely a treat after all that picking!

    Right, best do some work

    love Hoglet x
  • Hoglet, thank you so much it is a good feeling.

I can't believe it is 12 months since you were telling us about PYO blueberries. The icecream sounds delicious, don't eat too much and take things steady on your new bicycle, no wheelies :):)

    Much love

  • Very well thanks HOGLET I made some 'Cheese Ducks' (vege faggots) from a wartime book and a super winter salad of celery, apple, onion, diced cheese and mayo which we had with them. I cooked small potatoes to fry with bacon for another meal later on, made ooooodles of mash to use up our homegrown spuds that are starting to sprout and the mash will be made into many things over the next few days starting with potato cakes for breakfast tomorrow. I made a batch of plain scones for snacking and I made us a haricot bean and sausage casserole for supper with lots of steamed veg. House is topped to bottom dusted and vacuumed so a good productive day. I'm warm enough after that lot too!!!
  • What is this white stuff I have come home to??????? Something tells me it's not the lovely white sand I've become accustomed to!

No minnie pet it's not :D but it's good to send husbands out to play in all the same, they play happily for hours with their wee spades lol
  • Mar, you are a naughty girl:):) No wonder he is a RV

I know you enjoy the snow, but I hope it doesn't reach us. It has been mentioned for us for this weekend, but it won't be anything like the amount you folk in Scotland have.

SM I hadn't realised you were home from the Sunshine State, my sister is there until February I think.

I don't mind the snow outside - but the back of the house seems to have turned into Siberia lol
