Mum is doing fine thank you Candlelight, she was discharged from the Oncologist 8 years ago. At the time they expressed an opinion that the cancer may have come about from when she had Electrical Cardiovision to try and restart her heart due to an irregular rhythm? The lump come up exactly where the paddles went after they shocked her, if that's the case really was bizarre
Billy is doing well, he saw the farrier today who trimmed and filed his hooves, I took the decision a while back to let him be barefoot as his feet were good and too many horses feet suffer with nails being knocked in. My lad is half shire so has HUGE feet bless him.
Have also started him on a supplement of Green-Lipped Mussels as recommended by the vet, apparently they are good for arthritis in most living things inc dogs and humans so can see the whole house being on them before too long :rotfl:0 -
Evening all, oh what a super day we've had, the house is really nice, lovely large high ceilinged rooms, very acceptable floorings except for one carpet which Ruthie hates, sort of milk chocolate brown and in the boys bedroom so that will be changed asap. It needs a little TLC but nothing major and mainly cosmetic, for their first house they've chosen well and it will become a nice family home. We walked to the shops for lunch today and as we turned the corner back into their road a small voice in the buggy said 'Mumma, HOME!' so I think my pickle has settled. We've played and read books and played chase all day long while Mum and Opa changed spotlights for pendant lights in most of the rooms, had a good run back except for about 10 minutes of intense heavy rain when the wipers on full weren't coping with the amount of water falling down, quite scary but he drives well and we're home safely. Just had chilli and bread rolls for supper and am off for an early night in the near future as I'm so happy but shattered, that Zebra is FUN, FUN, FUN!!!0

Lyn, I am so glad you had a lovely time with Ruthie and the Zebra child. He seems to be coming on in leaps and bounds.
It is quite scarey isn't it when the wiper blades can't cope with the amount of rain falling.
It has become quite cold here this afternoon. We just went to the SM this morning for a few fresh bits, but tomorrow we are going to the blue and yellow place. DGD1 wants some storage boxes for her new wardrobe and I need a picture frame.
I already have a beautiful print I bought in Torquay a few years ago of a snow scene of Cockington Forge, and DGD bought a smaller print for me for Christmas. very similar. but with a different coloured sky so I would like to frame this one as well,
Hace a good weekend all

Good morning everyone!
Lovely to catch up with all your news over Christmas an NY - my first morning back in work today.
We had a lovely break, which of course went too fast, but this is the most relaxed I've felt going back to work for a long time.
We didn't do much, apart from a day trip to a bird sanctuary isalnd and going to watch NZ play Sri Lanka at T20 cricket yesterday after I won free tickets, we were home most days which was just so relaxing. Small hiccup on NYE when I ended up spending the night in hospital having tests for a persistent headache. It looks like I've got too much spinal fluid but the test for that failed 3 times so it's not completely confirmed yet. I've been given some tablets to sort the pain but won't know if the headaches are still there until the course finished. If so, I'll have to go through them trying another lumbar puncture... But anyway, it's nothing serious which is the most important thing, and I only had to stay in for one night.
The other exciting thing that happened, as I've got into cycling a lot recently, was that I bought a new (to me) road bike. I got a great deal on it second hand and I'm really pleased with it - it's in the shop at the moment having a full service and I'm itching to get it back. It really is light as a feather and I took it round an easy 5 mile loop just close to home and took 2 minutes off my time down one straight.
Okeydoke, well that's enough rambling from me - have super evenings everyone, I'm off to answer my emails.
love Hoglet xxx0 -
Good to see you Hoglet, that was an unwelcome present for New Year. I hope the tablets are working, but I am pleased you have been re-assured it isn't anything serious.
I am glad you are enjoying your cycling, and you will certainly be fit. Is NZ quite flat or do you have some steep hills to negotiate? When we went to Torquay a few years ago on holiday, I was amazed how hilly it was, I had no idea.
The weather is turning quite cold here, making up for the mild weather in December. The days are no lighter at the moment, and I lie in bed in the morning, about 6.30 and I don't want to get up. I always find January a bit depressing, once we get into February we will be able to see Spring on the horizon.
I hope all your produce is doing well. I planted lots of tulip bulbs in the autumn and because of the mild weather they are beginning to show. I hope we don't have any extreme weather to set them back. I have had polyanthus in the front garden in flower now for a couple of months. Our climate is all topsy turvey at the moment.
Don't work too hard and I hope the pain is a little easier now
Take care and sending a hug and a lick from Flora

Hello all,
Just to say I have been discharged by the Surgeon at the hospital, so that is good. He said if I have any worries at all to see the GP and he will refer me straight away.
A small celebration tonight, Lyn has advised this:):) and then carry on. Thank you all for your kind wishes
Much love

Good Morning, jolly chilly here this morning so we've put the heating on to take the chill off the house, it's the downside to only running with the woodstove in the lounge, the rest of the house whilst NOT actually cold is cooler than average and starts to feel damp in this kind of weather. We came second in the pub quiz last night which surprised us as the questions were dire!!! Just had eggy breads for breakfast for something hot to send He Who Knows out into the wilderness with his intrepid canine pal and am about to launch in to a day of housework and cooking, seem not to have been spending much time in the kitchen of late which needs to be remedied asap.
CANDLELIGHT I hope you had a nice little celebration last night, you've reached a milestone and it's out into the sun from here on lovey, Lyn xxx.0
