    Morning all

Been AWOL - had a weekend looking after dad, saw my DD sunday night on the way back (both in Euston for an hour so I took her out for dinner :T)

Woke up Monday morning with tummy bug / food poisoning. Not sure which. Oh dear, Monday was AWFUL - won't go into detail  but lost 3lb in one day

    Slowly recovering.

FTM - glad Fionna has had the Op and is off the painkillers.
    Hoglet - Jealous :p
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • VJs MUM sounds nasty, hope you feel better soon, must have been good to see DD.

FTM poor Iris, she is suffering at the moment, poor girl. Hope Fern has enjoyed her day with Grandad. You should be warm and toasty with the new curtains. Fionna seems to be improving, not needing the pain killers. I hope she doesn't need any follow up treatment, just regular check ups. DD starts her physio again this Friday so hopefully this will help with the healing process.

HOGLET I love the sound of the colours for the bedroom and I actuallylove looking through magazines for ideas. I don't buy nearly as many magazines as I used to when I was at work because they are expensive, but I do treat myself now and again. I am awaiting my new furniture which should arrive on the 5th Nov ember, and I am really excited about it. We don't need to re-decorate because that has all been done, just have to get rid of the old suite just before the new one is to arrive, otherwise we won't have many comfy chairs to sit on.

AOT how are you? Looking after yourself I hope

SM I think we are due a visit to Costco in a couple of weeks so look forward to looking at the Christmas decorations.

LYN I hope you are OK haven't seen you on line today.

    Have a good day everyone

    Much love

    Hi everyone

VJsmum - oh no, that sounds awful! Hope you are well on the mend now.

FTM - glad to hear Iris is better now, fingers crossed for Fionna tomorrow. Very flattered that you like my colour scheme :-)

Candlelight - oooh how lovely new furniture :-) I love those magazines too - I have a good old flick through of them in the shops. Pinterest kind of satisfies most of my home design and crafty inklings now - I make very little of it all but annoy DH all day by sending him photos of rooms and things and saying 'oooh how do you like this colour scheme/look'. He says everything is 'OK' or 'Could do' (usual man response I guess) so I'm taking that as free rein to get on with it.

Compost heap got a good airing last night - there was steam coming off of it so I'm taking that as a good sign. Lemon tree still un-planted and house still not decluttered. Many cooking shows watched on TV tho as DH was out. You can see where my priorities lie....

Well I now have 3 pieces of work to be getting on with outside of my day job, so I probably need to stop procrastinating and do them.

Love to you all, hope you are all well

  • Hiya we're fine folks, been down to visit that little Zebra and his mum for the day and had lots of fun but he's still a snotty monster and a bit fretty because of his cold. We've just run back from the west country through some of the worse rain I've experienced and I'm glad yo be home now.

FTM I'm hoping that Iris will shed the virus quickly, wretched things viruses, can't treat them just wait for them to run their course. Hope the poor little mite feels better soon.

VJsMUM poor you, hope you're on the mend now.

Got a travelling headache so I'm off to bed for a lie down in the quiet, talk tomorrow, Lyn xxx.

Lovely day here so washing out on line. Am on annual leave this week but we haven't really stopped, running errands, doing jobs round the house etc.

Took loads of stuff to the dump yesterday, OH is going to the metal recycling later today, have taken 3 carrier bags of stuff to the charity shop and am already amassing more. It feels more like a spring clean than autumn!

VJs - hope you are on the mend and that's not the way to lose weight! In my teens I had a really nasty stickness bug, to the point where my mum called out the emergency doctor. I lost 8 lbs in one evening and given I was only 8 stone to start off with that wasn't good! The emergency doctor, when he finally arrived, concluded it was a kidney infection because my kidneys were sore - no kidding after 5 1/2 hours of constant sickness!

FTM and MrsL, hope Iris and Zebra are better soon - seems to be a lot of illness going round at the moment.

Hoglet, sounds lovely, I do love spring and the promise of what is to come - please keep telling us about it!

    Hi Candlelight and AOT!

Right, should be cleaning the bathroom not lounging around here! Love to all x
  • Evening all, had a bit of a day with Docky today and a disturbed night with him again last night. He's a bit better this evening and we're hoping he'll be OK walking to the pub for the quiz tonight, it's not far and he likes going but I don't know how he'll be, he's had a scared day and not even wanted to go for a walk. We'll give it a go and see if it cheers him up.

FTM hope the small ones are feeling better today and that Fionna has had the all clear, that would be the very best news.

Hope everyone is OK and thriving, Lyn xxx.

    Hi Everyone

MLW - poor Docky, hope he's feeling more himself soon :-(

Katep23 - OK, will do, I won't feel guilty about it anymore!

Quite grey yesterday but not cold - still had to water the garden as so many things are in pots and containers. Big growth spurts on the lettuce - now I'm thinking I should have planted some more.... might be some more seeds at the weekend. I will have a weekend pottering about and replanting the spring onions which were so tiny when I got them I just shoved them in in their little groups.

DH declared the freezer F.U.L.L. last night (not helped by his fishing bait frozen in there I have to say) so dinner was a quickly defrosted curry (just realised I meant to add spinach and forgot) and I have promised to use the mousaka this weekend. Probably swiftly to be replaced by something else.....

Big declutter planned for the weekend. Seriously. A big one. I'm going to do it.... Must do it early on so I can take things straight to the charity shop. The online selling pile that has been under the spare bed for I don't know how long is going to the charity shop. I haven't sold it, I haven't even listed it for a long time, time to make space.

Alfie spent the night chasing his ball up and down the stairs, before bounding into our bedroom with a loud squark and settling down to sleep in between us. He takes a running jump at us now, we're hit with quite a force. Everyone just shuffles up and makes some room for him.. Under-the-duvet cat is firmly now pillow cat for the summer - DH used to say that they would never take over, one look at our mis-shapen sleeping arrangements would suggest otherwise :-)

Right, must get on with some work, early pick ups this morning so I need to be ready for them!

    love to you all

Ooh, grapes from my parents vines are fermenting away in the spare room!!

    £23 from the scrao metal.

Then we went to the garden centre to get some compost... They had some turf reduced from £4.25 to £1.99 a square meter. We have some raised beds we need to put back to lawn so we offered £50 for 29 rolls and they reduced the price even further to £1.50 per roll. Hence a very busy afternoon, laying turf :-P

MrsL, hope Docky enjoyed his night out x

    Good evening all,

Well had quite a fruitful day. Popped into town to go to the bank, did a bit of shopping, went to see DD and called in for our prescriptions.

Whilst we were out had a text to say our furniture was ready to be delivered, so it was then panic setting in because I had to ring the charities to see if they wanted our old suite (only 5 years old, never liked it) and the first one said YES. So they will collect it next Friday and new furniture will be delivered Saturday morning.

I am so looking forward to it because we have chosen the fabrics and style of the chairs and sofa, the chairs are winged back in a soft dove check, and the sofa is just soft dove, no check. Himself has a bit of difficulty rising from these chairs, and the new ones looked to be a little higher, so hopefully easier for him.

LYN I do hope Docky enjoyed his evening out and hope you all have a peaceful night.

KATE you had a bargain there, didn't you. Hope the weather stays fine while you do the garden.

HOGLET your garden seems to be blossoming, and it sounds as though you will have some lovely produce. Alfie sounds to be such a character he must give you a lot of pleasure. I have ordered a litter box for Flora instead of her tray. She can be over zealous and scatters it all over the floor, and hopefully this should stop it. I am forever having to get the Dyson out to hoover it up.

FTM I hope Fionna had a good result at the hospital, have been thinking about her today. Hugs to you all and glad Iris is feeling better.

Himself still has an horrendous cough after this flu bug thing we have had, so still sleeping in separate beds, poor Flora doesn't know who to sleep with she is somewhat confused.

We just had scrambled eggs on toast with grated cheese for tea tonight. Himself, who usually has a much better appetite than myself, is not eating as much at the moment because of the cough and it was all he wanted, but he did eat it all.

Well I think that is all my ramblings for today.

    Sleep tight everyone

    Much love

    Candlelightx
