Hoglet, they do make you laugh don't they with their sneaky ways!
Have a "day off" today - got the carpet fitters here doing the stairs and landing. We did the living room, dining room and hallway but couldn't face the stairs! Well worth the money not to have the aggravation.
Then off to the dump later, strimming in the garden (if the rain holds off), cleaning the windows, tidying and hoovering ready for our six-monthly estate agent inspection tomorrow. Some day off!
Oh yes, and pop into town to see if I can return some shoes I bought for a party but didn't wear.0 -
Well, carpet fitters were done in less than 2 hours and charged less than originally quoted so very happy with that.
Just back from the rubbish tip, all garden waste, old carpet and small off-cuts from the new carpet gone0 -
My goodness Kate you have been busy, but how satisfying as well. I love the smell of new carpet:)
A bonus to be charged less than quote as well, can't be bad.
Make yourself a cup of tea now and put your feet up for 5 minutes.

Hi FTM. Sorry not posted recently but RL intervened. I had my first B12 yesterday - 5 more to go for the 'induction' phase. I don't mind if they are a bit painful as long as they help this ridiculous exhaustion.Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Do without.0

I can only go by my Nan AOL but she was marvellous after she had her 3 monthly injection, but seemed to need it a couple of weeks before. This was a long time ago, so probably if the GP thought you needed it early they would give it to you.
I didn't know they hurt, but as you say it will be worth it just to feel well again. I have an idea we might be seeing a different AOL very soon
Much love

Evening girls (sorry, just assuming we are all girls here!)
FTM, ouch, sounds unpleasant, better safe than sorry though x
I agree with you re certain celebs/pop stars, some no better than they ought to be, and def not good role models! I'm curtailing some of the channels that our littlies watch when I'm not paying attention, even kids' tv aimed at them is not suitable IMHO. I let them play on certain, supervised computer games, but they much prefer being outside anyway. We listen to all sorts of music, too, am very proud that they can identify good music written and played decades ago, and even classical music! DD saw something on CBeebies, parts of Swan Lake, her face at the sad scenes was a picture! She totally got the story, and both kids were amazed that I knew the music!! :rotfl:
Read too much to remember details, but hugs to those having jabs, who've had nasty trips or feeling bleurgh, but glad to see a lot of positivity - spring is definitely springing and must be having a good effect on all of us!!

Morning everyone,
FTM - good news that the mole is nothing serious but sorry to hear its painful for you
Kate - you sound very busy, I think you definitely deserve a sit down with a nice cuppa! Excellent news about the carpet fitters though :-)
Not much going on with us, although winter is very definitely drawing nearer. A clear sky made for a chilly night last night, so it was no surprise to find 3 furry bodies sharing our warm bedroom (and parts of the duvet) last night.
We had the dinner DH made last night and it was really delicious - he was a bit upset that I had added some courgette to it but I did explain that it was just because the courgette needed using up, not because his dish needed anything adding. We had some rather floppy broccoli and cauliflower on the side too, but a liberal application of English mustard covered up any slight iffiness...
Got some brassicas planted the other week and they seem to be going well. Not sure that there's enough light for them where they are but we'll just have to see how they get on. I'm still getting the odd chilli from the summer's plants and my herbs have recovered after being almost smothered by the tomatoes.
Got another comedy show at the weekend to look forward too, and after that I don't think we have anything planned at all! Sometimes nice to have a break from rushing around isn't it?

FTM she's only 8 little petal, don't let her lose her childhood too quickly. They grow precocious these days and I'm all for letting them stay a child until they are emotionally grown enough to cope with all that pre teenage years bring. My eldest was 11 before whe noticed boy bands and all that implies and she's the most level headed and sensible person I know. She was as happy playing sylvanian families with her little sister as she was listening to Boyzone and still fitted with her peers at school, in fact I think it was a relief for some of them to come to our house and be able to play as a child once in a while. They're doing fine and so are you love. Hope your poor sorely nosey feels better soon, Docky sends his sympathy as he says he knows just how you feel!!! Love Lyn xxx.0

Morning everyone,
A bit dull here this morning, clearly have had some rain during the night, oh for a bit of warmth from the sun.
FTM as I understand it yes, heavy cream is double cream.
I had to have that procedure on a spot I had on my hand a few years ago. In the beginning I thought it was an age spot (Oh joy) but then it changed. I had it frozen and then it dropped off so nothing sinister.
I think you should try to keep Fern's innocence for a long as possible. Perhaps with your home tutoring she may hang on to it a little longer than if she was in mainstream school. It is such a short time and she will never have it back, and who is this Justin Beiber anyway:) I can remember my Father being shocked at the Beatles (who I loved) and I was a teenager then. I do hate to see little girls dressed as mini adults, and an awful lot of adults wouldn't want to look like that anyway.
Lawns have grown a lot with all the recent rain, first dry spell and Himself will have to be out there. I applied for a packet of wild flower seeds from Countryfile and I received them the other morning, so now we have to decide where to sow them. I do love wild flowers and especially poppies, I have masses of these in the garden, but unfortunately when it rains it does damage the flowers.
The slugs have been at my pansies again (little devils). They hide amongst the lily of the valley and bluebells and crawl up into the trough. Looking on the Gardener's World website they give you a list of slug resistent plants, so when the risk of frost is over I am going to put the small begonia plants in they recommend. I won't put slug pellets down but it is awful to wake up each morning to find the plants eaten down to the root almost.
We are popping into town this morning to pay some bags of coin into the bank and have a look around. Then off to see DD1, who is doing so much more for herself now, so we just go really for a bit company for her.
We have HM chilli and rice tonight and fresh fruit for dessert. Last week I made a batch of chilli and froze some of it. It was a little on the hot side so before I froze the other portions I mixed some natural yoghurt with it, so should be OK tonight.
Sister and brother in law didn't come for tea at the weekend because she wasn't very well, but hopefully this weekend she will manage it.
Well, I think that is all my news, such as it is.
Much love and hugs to everyone who might want one.
