Re-using stamps? Is this ok?

No problem. It's all down to peoples interpretation anyway. ATEOTD - it's text on a screen & people will interpret it differently.
The way i see it is i'm asking a simple question & some people are nearly keeling over about to enter their grave at such a suggestion. Nobody has been killed, only a question asked. I've not even done it :rotfl:Just asked it.
Not aimed at you, but people shouldn't take it personal anyway - i just find it a bit of a trend on MSE (especially the tax forum, hell fire!!). You just filter the good from the bad & move on
Thanks for the replies anyway.
the fact you even ask speaks volumes
would you post a thread asking if it was alright to shoplift?
I mean if you don't get caught,wheres the harm?0 -

Exactly.
They must never go on the roads either, cos we would have got stuck behind them all driving within the speed limit!

Ive had a letter with an unfranked stamp more than once and yes ive been tempted to reuse it, however, the thing that has stopped me is the thought that each stamp i buy its going towards paying someones wages. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. When you say the packet had a "whopping big 1st class stamp" on it, do you mean one of the gold or white sticky labels? Because if you do, then no you can't 're-use' it because it has a date on which it was originally posted, that is why it isn't usually franked or marked in anyway.0

Well..........................I'm not quibbling over £2.35, but if i can reuse the stamp, then why not.
What would you call it then, ex postie? (Issue wouldn't have come up if the postie had scribbled across the unfranked stamp(s) and cancelled it/them!!!)
Or are you being "clever" when no actual "?" was used.0 -

well you can go both ways
however lets take the moneysaving aspect
so its fine to not pay for a service if it saves money?
so its fine to order from eBay and then claim the item didnt arrive? after all the sender can claim from RM. money saving?
go shopping, slip a ffew items in your pocket.
lets just tweak it
I'm not quibbling over £2.35, but if i can get away without paying, then why not.
